Approximately 2 wks ago I allowed a support tek located in India to remotely access my computer to fix a problem I was having on my computer. After resolving the problem he asked me for my credit card # so he could charge me for fixing the problem, which I had clearly advised him at the very beginning of our conversation I wouldn't give him remote access to my computer if there was going to be a cost involved.

He became very agitated and abusive and threatened to call #411 and report me to whomever answered that number.

In addition, HE REFUSED TO DISCONNECT FROM MY COMPUTER AND HE REMAINED ON THE PHONE AND IN MY COMPUTER, DURING WHICH TIME I COULD SEE HIS CURSOR MOVING ALL AROUND MY SCREEN!

IT FINALLY OCCURED TO ME THAT I COULD PROBABLY GET RID OF HIS PRESENCE ON MY COMPUTER BY SHUTTING IT DOWN, WHICH I DID. WHEN I REBOOTED MY COMPUTER, MY HOME SCREEN WHICH HAD BEEN LOADED WITH APPROXIMATELY 30 ICONS OR SO NO LONGER INCLUDED THESE ICONS!

NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME DURING ALL THE YEARS I HAVE BEEN USING A COMPUTER & I AM BESIDE MYSELF WITH WORRY OVER THE POSSIBILITY THAT BEFORE I SHUT DOWN MY COMPUTER AND I COULD SEE HIM MOVING HIS CURSOR ALL AROUND ON THE SCREEN, HE WAS ABLE TO COLLECT ALL MY MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION ----- BANK ACCT NUMBERS! 401K PLAN! ALL MY SAVED PASSWORDS TO ALL PERSONALL ACCTS! ---- YOU NAME IT, HE MUST HAVE BEEN COLLECTNG ALL OF THIS INFO TO USE AS HE WISHED IN THE FUTURE!

ARE THERE ANY STEPS I CAN TAKE TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM IDENTITY THEFT BY THIS TERRIBLE SUPPORT TEK, SHORT OF DESTROYING MY COMPUTER????!!!! YOUR IMMEDIATE REPLY WOULD BE SO GREATY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU. M.WINTERS.

I'm the sort of person who deletes his cache and history after EVERY session, running spyware and virus scanners every night.

Halfway through using the browser yesterday when several (not all) pages began appearing as they do in the attached photos. As shown with the two LinkedIn examples, reloading would sometimes get the page itself back up, but images (avatars) and embedded media won't show up.

I hadn't changed any settings before this started happening. I thought it might be an add-on/extension problem, but I have all the same ones in Opera and everything is showing up fine there.

password security is not there in this browser at all ,non technical one can also get vulnerable details of the user easily,when someone has set save password . supposed the gmail accc password is saved and then the user sign out of it, and try to log in again then passwprd is visible again, there should have been password attribute and password should not be visible unless the user enter system password or fingerprint auth, it is very serious issue i think

Testing a secure website that is under development and Firefox has created difficulties with the web pages and I am told JSON code.

the problems only happen on Firefox: tested the website on other browsers on same PC and they all work correctly. Website has also been tested on Mac running various browsers. Issues have been on different versions of Firefox 74 and 75 and tested on different PC's. PC's running windows 10.

One simple effect is when landing on a page and need to select a button, the first click on the button and a drop down box briefly appears then closes again. Click again and the drop down box stays on the screen for selection.

The most critical error is that Firefox is loosing data that should be inserted into a form. All other browsers operate correctly. Development have spent a lot of time attempting to overcome the problem but its causing too much delay so there will need to be a warning on the web site to advise not to use Firefox similar to the government statement you can see from the link above.

If anyone has a seen this issue/has a better description then please let me know.

Hello firefox support, my computersystem seems to have an error, which leads in certain cases to a bluescreen. During the last couple of months i had cases where a Firefox tab crashed and restoring the tab always led to a bluescreen. I don't think that my Firefox instance is the main problem, but knowing the cause of those crashes could help me finding a solution. If you are couriose about the bluescreen messages: In most of the cases the error message was Memory_Management and Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error. Because of that i tested my RAM and my Harddrive. Both hadn't any errors which led me to a dead end. Investigating the Kernel error led to failiure code: 0x0000007a which should be a file access error. That tells me that those blue screens should be tied together. Even if you give me some informations about the cause of the firefox crash report i would be very thankfull.

I recently installed NetNanny Version 10 on my laptop. After the installation, every time I open Firefox it will crash and close within 5 seconds. As soon as I uninstall NetNanny, Firefox will go back to normal.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox (V76.0.1, 64-bit) and re-installing NetNanny but the same keeps happening over and over. Note I also 'disable' NetNanny temporarily, however Firefox will still crash.

I will appreciate some help with this.

Firefox crashes mostly when opening a new tab but also sometimes randomly when nothing special is happening. It never did it in safe mode so far. I use the default theme so no problem on this side. I tried while my extensions where disabled, it still happened (but way less often and after a while). I then tried with the hardware acceleration disabled and it also still happened (but same after a while and less).

Any ideas?

Sometimes when closing Firefox, something has opened a new browser session that i didn't know about, and I close it too, and since it only has one tab open, it becomes the save session with only that open tab, thus i lose all my tabs from the first session, how do i recover all my tabs them from the first session? Sometimes, if Firefox has crashed, it asks if you want to recover your previous tabs, but only if it crashed! I would like an option to force that same recovery when you open Firefox and all your previous tabs are gone and replaced by one stupid tab you really didn't even want in the first place and not have to find every previous tab one at a time. If there was a recent history of sessions or at least the previous 2 sessions we could recover all the lost tabs from that first session! This has happened many, many times to me and if very frustrating to loose all my open tabs and have to start opening all my old tabs that i use all the time!

I downloaded JDownloader yesterday. It forcefully installed some adware which became the default search engine, can't recall its name and Avast Antivirus. There was no option to uncheck them while installing. Since I didn't like JD at all so I uninstalled them all using Revo Uninstaller. Now while I searched something in the url bar few times that adware's page searched my keywords. I opened my settings and I got this message Your browser is being managed by your organization. PFA. This is my personal laptop connected to my personal wifi. Hackers have taken control of my Firefox and are maliciously using developer mode to alter settings and change behavior. They have hidden help/feedback icon so I can't send emergency info to firefox. They repeatedly change privacy settings for gmail on firefox to capture/alter my emails. They turn off my google sign in which has protected mode always on so they can load porn, inflammatory politics or foreign crap onto my youtube "recommended videos." They have posed as me and signed up for "developer" software in firefox that manipulates the entire account. They used a different email address and sign in to github on my own computer to do this, and I don't know the email address and can't do this. All of the info in my firefox account is now repeatedly tampered with. They also pose as developers throughout my computer and maliciously change everything. My computer is for an individual, myself who isn't part of any organization and shouldn't have organization "administrators. Can't firefox recognize that these are hackers and eliminate them?

My Fox was working fine. I downloaded a few add-ons and last pass. Shortly after that, I discovered that Fox was not on the taskbar, in the smart window or listed anywhere. So I have to download it every morning if I want to use it. Once downloaded it recognizes me and has all my bookmarks.

Then my password - if it is not correct I get a red pop up message and can correct it. But then I get the message "an error has occured" (see image). In my emails I find the message from Firefox Account to go to my account.

I have a red theme (Red Fade) which I like.

However the menus when you click anything on the menu bar (File, Edit etc) remain the default colour (see screenshot attached). I would like these to be red also. Is it possible to change this background colour preferably using the userChrome.css file or alternatively an add-on? I know how to edit the userChrome file, so would like the code if possible please.

I had several weird things happen this morning with my Mozilla Browser. Ultimately I had to re-download it and I then tried to setup a Mozilla Account to hopefully secure it. When I entered my email address z @comcast.net I received the verification code in my inbox but the new account display gave error code email returned misspelled.

I'm afraid my browser was hacked for my saved bookmark information and access. When I did get it back after rebooting Mozilla requested a new profile so I created "default user - zisses no additional user".

I then went back in and created the support account under the email x @gmail.com - I have attached below both of the verification codes I recieived from trying to create the support account. The zpggre account does not grant me access so can you be sure someone isn't accessing my information with it's use and please let me know what if anything is fraudulent and shut if down?

I am an academic librarian working from home. Literally for years, I've been able on Windows 7 and now Windows 10 to log into my grad school's online system including access to databases. Much of this requires a proxy for authentication. Before I describe the error, let me say that I installed Zotero over a year ago and have never had problems with it. Now, when I try to login, I get this, even when trying only to log in. There are two lines. The yellow bar that is hard to read because it keeps flashing but here's my best shot: Zotero automatically redirected your request to gslibrary.authn.worldcat.org through the proxy at gbtssbc.idm.oclc.org. Some space then "Don't proxy this site Proxy settings X

If your browser does not continue automatically, click here. I have tried numerous times to click "here" but I can't. For one moment, both the tellow bar and the message this is normal black text on white shows and then the yellow bar disappears and the black text moves up on the page. When I try to click "here" it keeps jumping around. I"ve never seen anything like this in many years on Firefox.

   I can successfully log in and use resources with the proxy on Opera. It does not complain. Someting about Firefox 75 is broken. I prefer using Firefox the most of the browsers available but I can't work like htis. I need to look up books and help users search for journal articles all the time. I cannot do without that. I don't really like Opera because of the lack of options but this is the straw that breaks the camel's back. If I cannot fix this, bye-bye Firefox. That's pretty serious for me for me but I must be able to work from home efficiently. Note: I disabled the Zotero plug-in. I asked on the Zotero forum and got some suggestions that didn't really help. I don't think it is Zotero. Zotero is only showing up because it connects to our librayr system. How can I fix this? I don't even know precisely what is wrong but for one thing, it shows the wrong URL  for logging in. That hasn't been true for a long time. I do not want to clear all my saved passwords and cookies to fix what is pretty clearly a FF 75 bug. I was a programmer a lot of years on complex systems. All the fingers are pointed at FF 75.
