I downloaded the latest update on my other machine and now it won't access the net. It has even crippled Internet Explorer, neither one will work. When I try to diagnose it gives some white noise about firewall and HTTP stuff. Since I can't get on the net with my other machine how do I download any fixes?

Running Windows XP SP 3, Every site, including this one, tells me I am using Firefox 2, but I am using Firefox 3.6.8 according to the Help button. I have re-installed and restarted several times to no effect.

When I download newer version of Firefox my bookmarks do not transfer. So I continue to use the older version which I notice glitches in certain websites (I figure because they don't support the older version)

My computer is running XP Pro with a high speed DSL connection to the internet. When I log onto Firefox I get an urgent message saying I am the version I have is no long protected and I need to update my version. When I download the new version and try to install it the next time I log on to Firefox I get the same urgent message. I have turned of my anti-virus and tried to install it and it does not help it still won't load. I have tried to load a new version several times with no success. What is the problem?

Certain websites like my banking website and another one that tests for system compatibility seem to think that I am running Firefox 2 when I am actually running 4.0.1. What would cause this to happen and how can I fix it? I am on a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard (v 10.6.7).

I have the latest version of Firefox (3.6.8) - not a beta version. Many sites I go to tell me that I need to update my browser, and include Firefox as an option. I have checked and rechecked, there IS no further update available! I have cleared my cache. These sites still work, but WHY am I being prompted to update? Hotmail is one of the offenders.

I want to get Adblock Plus but I can't. When ever I go to youtube it asks me to update my browser. Also whenever I go to my email account at MSN it asks me to update as well.

This isn't a problrm! Ty 4 ur patience, but I didn't fount an approriate topic/place/way to ask this thing (to offer an extended usability, being honest) So I have a repetitonal task many times a day: there is a list of keywords (like, my specializations in jobsite) and I must parse manually many web pages to find occurencies of those keywords. This is quite a bumper. To select a word from file, to copy and paste it in special Ctrl+F window in browser, then do it again many times for each new word =( To solve this kind of problem let the browser have a user predetermined list of patterns and new menu shortcut like Ctrl+L: whrn the user hits this shortcut the browser finds all the words (patterns) from that list automatically and flashes them on the page view. And the special button appear "Go next occurence"
