In August I stopped being able to send out emails through Thunderbird, but I still was getting incoming mail. My family are all computer nerds but they couldn't figure it out. I talked to the Spectrum Help and they figured out what changes to make in the Thunderbird settings for port numbers to make the new version work, but there was one last change they couldn't manage. They figured out that there needs to be a place in the Thunderbird settings to put in my Spectrum password, for incoming mail. There is one for outgoing mail (the choices were to put in the password or to click on "not necessary", and I used "not necessary") but there is no choice for incoming mail. With the changes they made, I can no longer get incoming or outgoing mail, so I have had to use the Spectrum website to manage the email and it is absolutely horrible, limited, disorganized and very, very slow. I desperately need to fix this. I need to talk to someone in real time, but I can't find a phone number on your website. When I try to start Thunderbird I'm unable to login with my live.com credentials. The error says: "We can't sign you in..." Don't have cookies turned on. Any ideas?

I found that Firefox can automatically generate a QR code for each URL, which is a powerful and useful feature! I'd like to know if this QR code has an expiration date.

it seems to me that there are quite a few questions in the forum about the backgound update process. It has bugged me for a long time that my Firefox would every now and then just refuse to open a new page and force me to restart.

Only now did I learn that this changes when de-selecting the (recommended) "automatically install updates" option. The wording used does not make clear that automatically installing updates sometimes renders Firefox inoperable until a restart. I would love to see at least a "learn more" link there? I chose "automatically" but then was cursing every time Firefox refused to open a new page in the middle of my work. Then I failed to connect this to the choice I had made weeks or months back.

install and migration/Update Firefox to the latest release https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-release suggests that on Windows there is a way to have automatic updates without forcing a restart in the middle of the workflow? I assume this is through some little helper process, which perhaps is not popular on MacOS.

But: would it not be possible to at least point to these options from the message that says that Firefox needs to restart so people know they have a choice? Even better would be to have a "not now" button but I realize there might be technical reasons why we cannot have that.

since version 119 of Firefox a download behaves siometimes different. The directory and "Ask before save" are still valid. But sometimes Firefox start to save in the directory without asking. Why behaves version 119 sometimes different in comparison with previous versions like 118?

Kan geen verbinding meer maken met MS Outlook na update. Melding eerst: wachtwoord of nieuw wachtwoord ingeven. dat werkt niet . Dan volgt de melding: Het bericht kon niet worden verzonden, omdat het verbinden met uitgaande (SMTP-)server smtp.office365.com is mislukt. Kan ook geen nieuw wachtwoord ingeven.

Sometimes, firefox will download the same file twice (or more) when I still have it.

I do NOT want to turn off automatic downloading.

I am asking, how to make firefox check if the file already exists before downloading.

I understand that sometimes you willl download multiple files from a website, but, even though they are all called "image.jpg" they are all in fact different pictures.

So, I think the solution to this is, when downloading a file, firefox should check if the file already exists.

If it does exist, start the download for file(1) as usual, but ask the user

"A file with this name already exists, are you sure you want to download it again ?"

And the choices should be

Yes (download continues) yes, and do not ask again for this filename (download continues) No (download is interrupted and partial file is deleted)

I'm giving Thunderbird a try because I'm unhappy with spam filters and rules not working in Outlook. I am tired of checking all my spam every day, to be sure that a wanted email is placed there. I want my T-BIrd to receive all spam, and use T-BIrd's rules to then firmly isolate, or even delete, specific spam that I receive.

I've set up four email accounts, using a Global Inbox, so everything is together. While I had been using IMAP with Outlook, I understand I need to use Pop3 for this to work with Thunderbird, so I did that. But....

I am getting some emails with Thunderbird, but not all, even those addressed to me. Will leaving Outlook open during this transition period prevent T-Bird from working properly? Likewise, can gmail.com be open when trying to debug messages? I just sent myself a gmail message, which was received in Outlook, but not in T-Bird (and I couldn't find it in Gmail either, which is /really/ confusing).

Oh, shoot, I tried sending mail using my Gmail account from Thunderbird, and it failed. I went to look up Server settings for Gmail with T-Bird, and the article said I'd have to use IMAP, which I cannot use if I want to have the Global Inbox. So, is use of T-Bird dead for me, if I require/desire a Global inbox?

Of the emails I've received so far, only one is marked by T-Bird as Junk, which I can identify by the red color, and when I click on it, I have a "Not Junk" button. But there is no Junk folder, which is where I thought it would be.

I created a Google Takeout file for my emails in my old gmail account which I am trying to import into my new gmail account, however the system does not allow me to split the files into smaller sections say 2-4GB which is what Thunderbird supports. I tried to submit for a 2-4GB split for the Google Takeout files and no luck...it always comes out in 2 files, one is a few MBs and the second file is over 40GB.

As I am trying to use ImportExport NG tool in the Local folders Mbox import, I get an error of Mbox All mail Including Spam and Trash-002.mbox larger than 4GB, skipping.

I've tried to find some online MBOX splitting tools, however no success as the file is too big and causing issues.

Any help with be much appreciated.

Really want to get rid of Edge and start using Firefox. However the last two times I downloaded and installed it looked like I had a huge number of trackers. I run Glarys Utilities regularly and this is where I found trackers. I do I install Firefox and protect myself from trackers.

After over 10 years of TB its time to move on to a mail client that actually works. I manage 10+ different E-Mail addresses across 3 domains, Since September, the ability of TB to actually work is hit and miss. (Wont get messages, wont send messages, says messages are sent when theyre not, slower than molasses in January, overall TB has really gone down hill IMO) I dont have the time or the patience to go through and try to change a bunch of settings and do all this stuff (across 10+ email accounts, that used to work fine, but no longer work due to the 'upgrade'), just to find out its so screwed up that nothing works and I lose everything again.

So, what I would like to do, is extract client E-Mail address out of TB, so I can put them into a new email client that actually works.

I have tried upgrading down grading before I uninstall it, Id like to get my information out, rebuilding my address book took forever last time.

All E-Mail is stored server side, so not worried about losing anything there.

My Firefox disappeared after an update on Windows 7. After a check I found out that Windows 7 is not supported anymore. The folder is still there in the programs (see pic). Can I restore my favourites somehow?

Good Evening, My company requested a factory restart and I compiled. I am working to restoring my old firefox bookmarks and preferably history/settings. Is there a way to find and restore this data? I am using the same firefox account as before the reset. Thank you.

Also, what are the best practices for backing up my data in the future to easily restore or transfer my settings and bookmarks in the future?

I have followed instructions, installed the new Mozilla and, when trying to use it, I get a message to search with google or enter address. Then, I am told that the "browser has crashed . . just tell it to restart" . . . repeatedly Is it not compatible with a Lenovo laptop? Gail Whitaker

I want to uninistall my firefox application, but unfortunately the folder in C:/Users/XXX/AppData/Local/Mozialla Firefox/ is empty, so I cannot uninstall it. I tried downloading again and then uninstalling, but did not help. Can I manually add the .../uninstall/helper.exe in order to completely remove the application from my Windows Computer?

I takes up a lot of space on my memory disk, so I want to remove it, but can't.

I have a 39 gig profile folder on a win7 computer and have copied it to a hard drive Trying to import to a win11 computer by importing from profile folder. Before anything moves I get an unexpected error with no explanation Don’t know if I need to try a little at a time or if that even matters

I recently reset my desk top and after that my thunderbird will not open without a password that I have not got. I need a simple way to find the password or otherwise allow me to reinstal a new download. I have tried for two days using lots of suggestions from web and help but I cant get past the request for a password
