While checking mail in my inbox, I opened, then deleted a message (message 1). As has been happening lately, there was a significant pause between my hitting delete and the mesage going away. Then I opened another message (message 2), and I found that it had the header for message 2 displayed in the inbox, but showed the text of message 1 when opened. Scrambled messages and headers could be a big problem.
I logged onto the mail server (gmail) directly. It showed me message 2 with the correct header, and message 1 was in trash.
To fix the problem, I deleted message 2 on the server, and waited for it to vanish from the headers in my Thunderbird inbox. Then, I copied it back from trash on the server. After it downloaded to Thunderbird, everything was fine, but I wanted to alert you to the issue. Something evidently can go awry on TB's end to scramble headers and messages, and that is scary.
Running TB 147.0.1 with gmail(imap) as the mail server. I have posted twice in the past week about issues with gmail, and I am suspecting something going on at that end. My TB installation is brand new since then; the problems with logging on and staying connected that I reported only went away when I removed .esr, rebooted, and did a clean install of TB.
Please advise if this is a known problem, and if there are settings I can tweak to prevent recurrence.

Have been having an issue for the past month or two where if left in the background firefox will slowly start to eat up my available ram. I was using it like this perfectly fine for years previous to now.
I dont have this issue when I'm actively using it, only when I tab away from it and specifically its not on screen. Once I tab back to firefox the ram usage immediately dips back down to normal. I have tried many things to try and solve this like doing a clean install of firefox, getting rid of extensions, clearing my browser cache, closing all other apps to verify it was just firefox, clearing my history, turning on hardware acceleration. Nothing seems to help, im really at a loss and I don't understand what changed besides it being updated in the past couple of months.
My computer is fairly heavy duty and I have 16gb of ddr4 ram that again was working perfectly fine to run firefox before these past couple of months. As a result of this issue however if left in the background for too long on accident firefox uses up all my idle ram and starts causing other programs to not be able to run and has even crashed my computer previously when trying to run a program like clip studio paint.
I have noticed that while running the firefox task manager there is definitely some difference in memory usage when i tab back in after letting it be in the background so I have attached screenshots of the regular usage while tabbed in and the captured usage when i tab back in.
Any possible solution is welcome because I really enjoy using firefox and i dont want to have to switch browsers unless absolutely necessary.

I was running TB 128.11.1esr up until 10:00 this morning on Windows 10 Professional 22H2 64-bit. I have some e-mail messages that I cannot delete. This morning I auto-upgraded to 1o 128.12.0esr and then to 140.0esr. I still cannot delete the messages When I try to delete a group of messages (containing the message in question), the messages in the in-box turn from black to gray, and I see at the bottom "Moving messages to Trash". But nothing happens. I did a "Compact folders", and it completed without any error messages. I can look at my Trash folder, and the contents seem to be intact. In one case, I individually deleted all of the messages except one. With this one, I open the message and see nothing in the bottom message content pane. When I do a "cntl-u" to see the RFC 5322 message headers, I see a window that is completely blank. What is happening, and how can I debug this? Thanks.

Когда firefox зависает и windows предлагает его убить, firefox получает права системы и по этому становиться не убиваемым.Система не может его убить потому что у его права системы .В первые заметил этот баг когда сделал браузер firefox браузером по умолчанию.У меня сим роутер при запуске системы открывает браузер тут та браузер и зависает (не всегда ,но часто) в диспетчере задач в этот момент у его права системы.Писал в майрософт ,майкрософт посоветовал пользоваться нормальным браузером и сменить браузер по умолчанию .По совету майкрософт сменил браузер по умолчанию на chrome проблема пропала. I'm not asking a question now; I already found the answer. I'm contributing an answer in case others run into the same problem I did. The archive function in Thunderbird was running painfully slowly. I remembered it as being fast, moving from local folders (from POP) to local archive folders quickly, but lately it had been slow, like seconds per message. And I had thousands of messages to deal with. This is on Windows 10 Pro.
The fix turns out to be in Settings -> Windows Security -> Virus and Threat Protections. It has an option "Cloud-delivered protection", which "Works best with automatic sample submission turned on". Now frankly that sounds like a major-league security hole to me, sending old private messages to Microsoft! Turning them both off fixed the problem. Now archive is entirely local and isn't held up by Windows mucking into the system and trying to make copies of private mail and send them to the mothership before moving them. I don't know how Windows "Threat protection" broke into the internal operation of T'bird but that was an easy fix once I found it, and the archive function is very fast, even moving thousands of messages at a time.

OK, I noticed my Sent mail folder has a file size of > 3 GB (3,224,360,399 bytes) Probably why it is not being read How can I reduce the size of this file (without being able to open it in Thunderbird)?

How can I get Firefox Focus app on my Home Screen to open? For two or three days now, after entering my passcode, rather than going to Firefox Focus, takes me to Google. I have played a competitive game app I have on Firefox Focus for years. Suddenly I can no longer access it directly through Firefox Focus. Image below is what appears when I go to Firefox Focus and enter my password. The main game I play opens in Google rather than Firefox Focus.

A bug perhaps:- If I highlight various messages at once (I use shift and arrow) and then I press delete. When i subsequently navigate to any other message I can't read it, instead I see this message until I quit and reload Thunderbird: We're sorry, but we can't display this conversation, because the messages have been moved or deleted. Has anyone else noticed this and, better still, do you know how to work around it. I'm using Unified Folders by the way, in case that's relevant.

Long-term Thunderbird user and in the past couple of months Thunderbird on my PC on connecting to my mail server goes to a time out (about a minute?) before then downloading new messages. Connecting from my laptop is instant.
The PC - which is relatively new - performs well otherwise.
Checked settings on both and they are identical, save for the laptop.being 64-bit and the PC 32-bit versions.
Any ideas for me to try?

My current laptop running Ubuntu 22 and Thunderbird 128.12.0 has driven me nuts since I got it. Slower than a snail loading. Confusing layout and function trying to group related messages into threads. I DO NOT LIKE IT.
I understand many of your customers might love the current Thunderbird for what they do with it. Can you somehow make available the older version of Thunderbird without all the fancy updates?

When I first open K9Mail 16.0 or after scrolling to the top of the message list, the message does not disappear from the list after I open a message, select move, and choose a folder. The message will no longer be clickable after I do this. However, it will remain displaying in the list until I start scrolling the message list, at which point the list updates and removes the moved message.
Please fix this bug.
