Adding another POP3 account using new Account Hub ends in a waiting loop

Trying to add existing mail accounts as already did in early Thunderbird 17. 1. one pop account (gmx.net) added successfully. 2. one imap account (gmx.net) added successfully. 3. trying to set up further pop accounts of gmx.net end in waiting loop although data check of program is ok. Checked and verified muliple times server data, account and pw.

I have a new Mozilla (FireFox) account and keep getting emails that say I need to confirm it. They include a button to do so but I'm not clicking it unless I get better information from you. Please help. The email swears my account will be deleted if I don't confirm it. What do I do?
