Hi. Have searched FF help re "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" but I don't see a clear answer that I understand!

I have my Router, NAS, etc. with local URLs (192.168...) to access their web front-ends. FireFox (FF) is set to "Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows". Whenever I enter these URLs into FF it gives me the error "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead". For my router it says certificate MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT. For my NAS it says SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER. Both are very reputable companies, but clearly have not provided well prepared Certificates. I can of course "Accept the risk and continue", since I know both are valid local services. But this has to be done each time. My "acceptance" is not retained.

Is there a better, safe solution? If so, please explain in easy language for the non-technical reader.

Many thanks.

I am sorry to invoke other browsers here, but I have switched from Chrome and found one feature to be completely intuitive there and impossible in FireFox. I have multiple profiles and want to open external links in the most recently active window. With Chrome, this was as simple as activating the window to open an external link in, then running the external link normally. In Chrome the link would open in any window that was recently active, including private windows. In FireFox it will only open in the first opened window of the first opened profile. I have not found an intuitive way of handling this in FireFox. Is there a setting or trick to it that doesn't involve rewriting URLs?

Selecting the text of an article on a web page used to be pretty easy. Now, not so much. Tap & hold inside the article brings us the selection bar without the Select All option. Of course, there’s Select, which requires dragging the selection box to get what you want, but this works well only on short selections. If you want to select all of a long article it becomes nearly impossible. Do you know any work arounds?

Thanks, Dennis

Thank you for your patience on this particular matter. Any solutions?

Short ver. of the problem: with a designated profile, I cannot launch a new window of an already running firefox using shortcut. Error msg "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. ...". I have to first active the firefox window and then use Ctrl+N, which is very annoying considering someone has to open/close many new windows a day.

Details: Here is my environment: in windows 10, say, I have three copies of firefox programs with their own profiles for different purposes. Something like this: D:\Firefox 1, this is the firefox program itself. D:\Firefox 2 D:\Firefox 3 D:\Profiles\1, this is the profile folder named as "1" D:\Profiles\2 D:\Profiles\3

I then use shortcut to launch each firefox, creating a shortcut then add options in the target line. Like this: D:\Firefox 1\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\1 D:\Firefox 2\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\2 D:\Firefox 3\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\3

I then use autohotkey to designate a particular hotkey to each firefox. Like this: Alt+1, launch firefox 1 Alt+2, launch firefox 2 Alt+3, launch firefox 3

The overall goal is to have complete separate operations.

The issue, I first use alt+1 or double click the shortcut with launch options to launch a firefox. Then, if I need to open another window of an already running firefox, which is minimized to the taskbar, I have to first activate the firefox window and then click ctrl+n. If I use the Alt+1 or double click the shortcut with launch options, an error msg pops saying, "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. ..." The ideal behavior is to use shortcut to launch a new window.

Thank you guys!

Why I am facing this issue? Is there any issue with my internet provider or browser?

Hello, I have noticed that the slowest way to download anything on my PC is through a browser, what I mean by that is when I download a game for example through steam I the download speed is between 200 to 350 Mb/s (25 to 44 MB/s) but when I am downloading anything using the browser the maximum I get is 20 Mb/s (2.5 MB/s), so I was wondering, is there any way to make it faster and just not less than 10% of my internet speed?

How can I delete downloads in Firefox? I have downloaded two PDFs that I no longer wish to keep, I have going to Firefox menu, downloads, found the files, and have tried long pressing them, right swiping them and pretty much anything else oh, and there never seems to be a menu or option to delete them.

I have read other similar questions that simply state that you have to long press and then select Elite, but long-pressing only creates a system feedback like a beep or vibrate but no menu pops up.
