Since an update to 148.0 Thunderbird no longer retains the log in details for my various google calendars. Every morning I get a blank diary and need to delete all the calendar details then renew them by adding them in again. It's never done it before (over many years!) so what's going on?

In previous Thunderbird versions, when you subscribed to a RSS-Feed that required authorization, Thunderbird prompted for it, just as a Webbrowser would.

I'd enter the username and password, tick the box "Save in Password manager" (or something) and the feed would come in.

I don't know when that changed, but nowadays Thunderbird just says "Feed is unautorized". No password prompt, no possibility to mark a feed as "requires Authentication".

I know I could pass username and password in the URL, but that is rather unsafe compared to saving the password in password manager protected with a primary password.

It seems that there were some bug reports some 21 years ago about the same issue, so maybe this is a regression?

Hallo, kürzlich habe ich einen neuen PC (Windows 11 - Androit) in Betrieb genommen. Seitdem gibt es immer wieder Schwierigkeiten beim Versenden meiner E-Mails. Ich werde ständig aufs Neue aufgefordert den Benutzernamen und das Passwort einzugeben. Wenn ich das tue, und das Gewünschte eingebe und absende, erscheint kurz danach die gleiche Aufforderung, das Gleiche könnte ich endlos wiederholen. Mein E-Mail wird dann aber trotzdem versandt. Windows 11 machine. I have 2 email addresses in my TB set-up, from different domains/servers, one is a Rackspace for my business and the other is Fastmail. I am repeatedly asked for the server password for every single incoming email, and occasionally asked for the SMTP outgoing password when sending. I have put Windows into safe mode and it still happens there. I just don't know what to try next. Thanks in advance, Laurel

Hi everyone, since I enabled two-factor authentication (2FA) on my email accounts at web.de and gmx.de, I can no longer use these accounts reliably in Mozilla Thunderbird.

I set up the accounts using an application-specific password (a so-called "one-time password"), as provided by web.de/gmx.de when 2FA is active. The initial setup works, and I can send and receive emails for a short time. But shortly after, Thunderbird asks me for a new password again — and this keeps repeating.

I also tried using my regular account password, but of course that doesn’t work either, since Thunderbird has no way of entering the second authentication step required by 2FA.

Interestingly, everything works fine on my smartphone with the Bluemail app. There I can use the application-specific password permanently without any issues.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Could it be that Thunderbird doesn’t properly store or maintain sessions for app passwords? Or is there another workaround?

I need Help with Thunderbird by Mozilla,

1. I have been using and Donating to Mozilla for some 25 years (I’m 75 y.o.) With excellent experiences until the resent years mess I can’t understand? How do I get Thunderbird from asking me go the passwords of my 6 email accounts or the overall primary account? I am getting very aggravated by this. And give this a 1 out of 10 for conveniences for members. (The Hackers don’t care they can get the passwords from my computer if they want!)

2. Regarding what to do when I get a yellow caution banner across email messages I receive. I don’t want any of the Options available and only what them blocked. If I select the X to remove the caution banner it comes back the next time I open it!!!! Nothing tells me how to block the scammers that have their name connected in it. Your poor instructions don’t say how to erase the banner from the emails permanently? So, what am I supposed to do?

I downloaded Thunderbird on my wife's computer and entered the information for four email accounts. The first three were for twc.com emails and the last was a bellsouth.net email account. The three twc email accounts connected and downloaded emails from the server. However, nothing happened with the Bellsouth account. When I tried to send out an email from this Bellsouth account, TB timed out after about a minute. The account server settings looked fine for both incoming and outgoing. I then tried the same Bellsouth settings on my laptop that also had an installation of Thunderbird. It successfully installed the same Bellsouth account and downloaded emails from the server without issue. So the credentials and settings I was using on my wife's computer were correct.

I went back to my wife's computer, trying to see what the problem was. I noticed in the passwords table, only the password for the Bellsouth inbound.att.net server appeared. The outbound.att.net entry was missing (both the inbound and outbound passwords were there in my laptop's TB password table). So, I uninstalled the bellsouth.net account and after restarting TB recreated my wife's Bellsouth account. Nothing changed and the password table still only listed the inbound.att.net password.

What would you suggest? Do I need to delete my wife's Bellsouth account from TB, exit TB, then uninstall TB and start over with a reinstall? From what I've read, it looks like the reinstalled TB will automatically find my wife's profile from the previous installation. Correct?

I have no problem with previous version of ff. i noticed ask to save password not showing up in this version. usually if i fill in a form, ff will save the information for future use.

i have issue with ff, so i uninstall and reinstall. doesnt work. i add additional information in notepad attachment.

i am end user. nothing technical. only uses ublock, clearurl and audio equaliser. not heavy user. just light browsing facebook, google and regular website.
