Within the last 10 days my wife's computer has been denied access to a number of sites via the Firefox browser and she receives the Insecure Connection message. She uses the work around using the Advanced path button. We are confused why without any changes to her machine this is happening. She is on an iMAC using OS version 10.7.5 and Firefox 48.0.2 and accesses the internet through an internal network, she has Airport installed and is connected to my iMAC which has OS 10.9.5 and Firefox 78.13, and has never had any difficulties accessing sites or with Firefox. We're aware that our OS versions are outdated but all our applications work well and so we see no need to update. We'd appreciate any suggestions and thank you for your help. I'm currently using Firefox 78.15.0esr 64-bit and there's supposed to be an update to 90-something, but I don't want to upgrade because the reason why I downgraded to this version was a major problem I had with the latest Firefox--that problem being that it would go in and out of Full Screen mode by itself regardless of whether I was watching a Youtube video or not, even if I never pressed F11. It would just jump in and out of fullscreen on its own, sometimes just showing a black screen and forcing me to restart the computer entirely because when it holds on the black screen, my monitor would just turn off.

So, is there a way to opt out of this update if the upgraded ESR is just going to do the same thing as regular Firefox?

I am using firefox in linux mint basically and today I noticed that when I click on a youtube link it opens my firefox and then the youtube website and the video loads but the video doesn't play and keeps buffering when I click on the play video button. And then if I click on other youtube video those doesn't work too. So I have to close firefox everytime and then when I manually visit the youtube website everything works. But if my browser is closed and then I click on the youtube video it loads the video but doesnt play it and keeps buffering.

NEW FLASHING TAB LOADING ANIMATION on page load is obnoxious, WHERE IS THE THEME TO FIX THIS? WATERFOX is a better browser that has DEFAULT THEMES that are not ludicrous obnoxious ANIMATED TABS ON EVERY FRICKEN LOAD that is ludicrous FOR REAL! Where is the option to FIX THAT MADNESS, THANK!

When trying to get to paypal.com, I get stacked at the VERIFICATION (in French) display and can't get to the site. I've called paypal and tried from CHROME and it worked alright. I've changed the password,I've deleted the cookies in CLIQZ but can't get pass VERIFICATION. I must go to CHROME for any transactions with paypal. This didn't happen before (a few days ago). Could you pls help me??? Cristina Aragona

I have used firefox for many years and really like it overall. One real problem is not being able to open new tabs to my home page (or what ever page I define to open). I have contributed to the project several times over the years but I am considering a replacement because of this issue. My hope is you might provide some solution without an addon, which always brings overhead. Please advise. Joe

I do not know why you had to take something that works pretty well and screw it up with a hap-hazard update. I cannot open GMAIL in standard mode, it keeps wanting to go to HTML mode. I tried to figure out what in the world the solution is in the support center. is it , "Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux) '? This doesn't work. It then says to, "Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences). "Clear the cache": Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now" "Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems. Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies" doesn't work. I can't find the options/preferences button. As I alluded to at the beginning of my statement. It was working pretty good till this last update. Now I am really frustrated with firefox and looking at other options.

Two questions re: the forced update from 78.15 to 91.

1: Will all bookmarks, and all other settings be retained? Is there a form of recommended backup in case of problems (I currently use MozBackup, still)

2: Will the "Bookmark Tab Here" add-on work with 91? I need a user friendly bookmarking system, which was the reason I stayed with ESR in the first place.

I have had Metamask installed for a long time but recently it has vanished from my browser and despite enabling it many times, deleting and reinstalling and turning it on, it still is not showing up in Firefox. I tried connecting Uniswap to it and it sends me to the download metamask page even though I have already downloaded and installed. What is going on?

I used to have a speaker icon on my tabs but it has disappeared. Any idea how to get it back?

Also I lost the "reopen closed tab" function as well.

Please help with either or both of these issues.

I am writing to you because of Mozilla's new add-on policies. I am especially focusing on the point: Encryption – standard, in-browser HTTPS – is now always required when communicating with remote services. In the past, this was only required when transporting sensitive information. While I am supporting this new rule, I would like to ask, if there is any chance to be excluded from this policy. I am the developer of Domain Country, an add-on which allows you to retrieve the geographical information (and other data) about a given domain. To retrieve this data, Domain Country uses the API https://ip-api.com/. Unfortunately, this API requires a paid key to be accessible via HTTPS (Example URL: https://ip-api.com/json/mozilla.org). While I am very frustrated about this solution, I still decided to implement it, because I could not find another free API service. To still ensure that users are protected against Man-in-the-middle-attacks, I decided to manually validate the data after it is received (the code for Domain Country is open-source. This is the line, I'm talking about: https://github.com/Myzel394/domaincountry/blob/master/src/apis/fetchDomainInformation.ts#L94). Domain Country will also be continuously updated to ensure the user's safety. As a student with only low income it is also impossible for me to pay for https://ip-api.com/.

I hope you understand my problems and consider excluding Domain Country from the new add-on policy.
