Have not had this problem before. I have several tabs open as my home pages but when I need to pay a bill, I go to the PayPal web site. It opens in German. I've tried to fix this but my settings all say set to English unless I missed one. Windows 11 MSIX 1.0 Firefox

All of a sudden (possibly after the last update) my default search engne has changed from Google to Bing. When I look in settings it is still Google I have unchecked all other browser options and it still uses Bing to search I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it but the problem persists. This only happens on my Android device. My Windows desktop still uses Google and the devices are linked with the same Firefox account

Raindrop.io add-on keyboard shortcuts are currently broken. I created a Pull Request to fix the issue, and would like someone in the know to check my code. TIA!

I love Firefox and use it for more than a decade now. Problem is that filetypes .mp4 and .mp3 are automatically opened and played in Firefox. How to change that to be downloaded? In the Settings>General>Appliations the extension MP4 and MP3 do not show up...

This is super frustrating. How to use Firefox for development purposes? There should be an option to add exceptions. I even went to settings and added an exception manually to no avail.

I'm going often through pain to use firefox for everything but then there must be a reasonable way to achieve the goals.

Please tell me there is a way to workaround this easily without compromising security of other sites that are being visited.

P.S. I can open same site with adding an exception on chrome.

I'm having a problem where certain websites does not show up as shortcuts on the startpage. Like for example reddit.com or twitter.com does not appear even though I visit those pages often and more than any other page. It doesn't make sense that a random website shows up immediately as I visit it once, but not the websites I visit often. So I have to type in manually in the search bar to get there instead of just clicking the shortcut on the startpage.

I COULD pin the websites on the startpage, but the pictures only show up as the automated pictures such as "R" or "T" for Reddit and Twitter respectively. I'm also having problems using my own pictures for the shortcuts and I'd rather fix the problem instead of having to pin websites as shortcuts. It also looks a bit ugly in my opinion.

This started happening after I switched Microsoft accounts on my PC and started using Firefox on another user account. By the time I switched, I was logged into the same account on two different users on my PC, and I synchronized several times. That other logged in user is now removed from my Firefox account and I also completely deleted the other user on my PC to free up space. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and deleted all the files on my PC, but it still doesn't work. I have checked in about:profiles and it says there is a "default-release" and "default" profile.

I have checked the box "Always ask you where to save files". It works well most of the time, however, I have faced a case in which it does not. Opening a link to a pdf file directly from google search results, somehow bypasses this option, and starts downloading the pdf automatically, and opens it after download finished. I believe you are aware how dangerous it is to open pdf files directly.

If there is a solution to this, I will be glad to hear from you, as it is very important issue. Thank you beforehand.

Is it possible to view SVG with a dark background? For example in the picture, the SVG has a transparent background, and I would like it if Firefox's background was dark so I can see the text.

Hi, i would like to set my pdf handling as follows

1. When opening a pdf link, i need the file to open in browser, don't want it to download 2. When opening from download history, i want it to open in my pdf software

I believe this was the default in old firefox(some years ago). Currently if i set it to open in browser, point 1 will work but 2 won't (i have to right click and choose "open in xx app") if i set it to always open in other app, 2 will work but 1 won't. Back then i tried some settings which downloads the file to temp folder and open from there, i don't want that (not needed the file in download history) pls let me know if there is a solution. I have to use Firefox Developer Edition in order to run an addon a custom addon that I made. The only quirk I don't like is having to see "Firefox Developer Edition" in the taskbar. I notice that it only displays this text from the home page and then changes once I a web page is in focus. How can I change the taskbar title text of the new tab/home page so that it just says "Firefox"?

I have a friend who is profoundly blind. He uses Thunderbird email but needs a keyboard shortcut to open attachments to an email. Is there a keyboard shortcut? If not can you create one?

I moved the downloads folder via File Explorer to OneDrive. So now it's like this:

c:\users\[username]\OneDrive\Downloads

But Firefox keeps wanting to save files to the original location:

c:\users\[username]\Downloads

All other apps seem to respect this setting other than Firefox. Any ideas?

FF 128 on Windows 11 23H2.

I want the same behaviour in the URL bar drop down as the search bar drop down, meaning that when I click a search engine, it immediately searches with it instead of doing search suggestion queries. How can it be done in modern Firefox? The search bar should also have its own separate default search engine so you can immediately swap between 2 primary search engines without needing to select one from any drop down at all.

Ever since a recent browser update, I have been seeing little pop-up windows in the lower left corner, suggesting other web pages to view. I don't know where they come from or how to shut them off. I already have pop-ups disabled.

I have a magazine e-subscription to Tricycle.org the problem is that, according to Tricycle Tech Support, my pop-up blocker keeps blocking my log-in attempts, and the Tricycle site keeps asking me to subscribe, and their Tech Support team says the probem is on my end and suggests that I disable my pop-up blocker. I'm wondering if mozilla/firefox will permit me to disable the blocker at tricycle.org without interfering with every other thing the blocker is doing? I have Mozilla VPN and Firefox on my Mac laptop. Thanks! -- Jim Dollar

(Firefox Nightly) The tabs and menu buttons seem to have been relocated to a fixed pane on the bottom of the browser window. I can't tell if this was part of an update or some accidental swipe. My attempts to fix this:

Longpressing these ui elements doesn't show any contextual options.

Settings seems to only allow relocation of the url bar top/bottom.

Nothing in the configuration editor (json or xml or whatever seems to cover this, but I am not particularly fluent in browser widgetspeak.

Suffice it to say, tapping tabs and menu (for extensions) is a high frequency activity so having these irreversibly(?) relocated is frustrating.
