Using latest thunderbird on desktop, if I create account, thunderbird pops up a window but the window greys out and never gives me a way to input password. There’s a url at the top but it never goes

On a dual-stack network, with Windows tcpip6 ‘disabledcomponents’ parameter set to prefer IPv6, Firefox ignores this setting whenever an endpoint resolves both an IPv4 and a NAT64 address.

While monitoring traffic captured while connecting to sites in Firefox, if the initial DNS request for the site comes back with an IPv6 address only, the connection attempts from client’s IPv6 address to destination IPv6. If DNS answers come back with IPv4 and IPv6, the connection attempts IPv6 to IPv6. If DNS answers come back with IPv4 and a NAT64 address, Firefox doesn’t even attempt to connect to the NAT64 address, it immediately defaults to IPv4. I’ve tried disabling the IPv4 fallback setting which doesn’t change the behavior.

We’re running version 140.8.0esr. Is this behavior intended for Firefox? Is there a way to configure Firefox so it doesn’t ignore NAT64 addresses in dual-stack environments? The only way I found to force this was to completely disable the IPv4 stack on the client system’s NIC.

Ik krijg geen verbinding meer met mozilla thunderbird email. Google is mijn provider. Google vermeldt: server kan het verzoek niet verwerken omdat dit niet de juiste opmaak heeft. Ik heb wel mijn wachtwoord in Google verandert door Odido probleem. Ik vermoed dat dit het probleem kan zijn. Mijn vraag is of u dit op afstand kan bekijken

Yesterday, out of the blue, one of my Spectrum email accounts asked me to sign in. I tried entering my existing credentials several times, but failed to sign in. I tried to recreate the account, but, it fails each time with "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account". I tried using the account hub and it fails with the same message, with a sub message of "can't find a server".

I've been on the phone with Spectrum 5 times in the past 24 hours. They claim that it's a Thunderbird problem since I can access the email in question if I go through their web interface.

Can anyone help with this?

Hi I keep getting the message "Unable to connect to your IMAP server". I have reduced the number of 'server connections to cache' from the default 5 down to 1. Thanks

I get a message that says I must log into this network before I can access the internet then I get another message that says the page isn't direct redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never be complete the problem can sometimes be solved back calls by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. I have done neither. don't understand what happened I was browsing and all of the sudden I'm not I guess I may have to switch my browser?

HTTPS pages are no longer loading. Everything works fine in Microsoft Edge. I've reinstalled Firefox several times – the problem persists. Thank you very much for your help.

Hi, all experienced peoples are here I got strange issue with firefox lately. my site sometimes https://avsogirl.net/ not loads at all, just shows “server not found” look at the image.

i first thought maybe server down, but i checked with curl and ping, server responds fine. also tested same site in chrome and edge, loads normal there, no error. i tried clearing cache, disabling addons, even fresh profile. still same. only firefox gives this dns error.

i use dns-over-https in firefox, and i also have proxy config for work. maybe firefox handling dns/proxy different? when i switch off doh, sometimes page loads, sometimes not. so looks like firefox network stack problem, not site issue. anyone else facing same error?

I have an Archive location set up through my network on my NAS. One of the disks failed and the NAS was turned off until the faulty disk could be replaced. When I then tried to open Thunderbird it stalled, presumably because it couldn't find the archive location. Once the disk had been replaced and the NAS powered up, Thunderbird opened straightforwardly as expected.

Would it not be better to open Thunderbird with a suitable timeout, without the NAS connection, but provide a pop-up to advise that "the archive location has not been found - you are unable to archive at this time". That would allow emails to be read and sent in the usual way and also warn users of other issues that would affect archiving. Any archiving could be left until the connection to the archive location is restored.

My Spectrum-TB connect was functional yesterday but is not working today; NO password or setting changes! Contacted Spectrum and was able to successful send an email from Spectrum's online webmail to a gmail account.

I've noticed that on using the app that it stalls. I have to toggle aeroplane mode to check to kickstart it back to life.

I can confirm it's not a phone or internet issue as I can switch out to chrome or share the stalling page to Chrome and it works immediately. This happens on different pages so it's not a page specific issue. I've even noticed it hanging on switching to a different app and then back, where the page suddenly stops functioning or loading.

I hate using chrome, I'd prefer to keep using Firefox, but I can't stand these constant pauses.

My device is a Xiaomi 15, I'm using the latest Firefox. I'm using the latest Android version. My Firefox app has only 1 extension installed ublock origin.

When trying to add my Outlook account, I am stuck at the authentication step. The webpage doesn't work. The screen recording I've attached is what happens on the second time and later; the first time it shows a different page (saying "The app named Thunderbird will be granted these permissions [... a list of permissions]; allow?" and I clicked "Allow") but it doesn't work either.

There is a "在 浏览器 浏览器中打开" option ("Open in browser browser" haha; it refers to Xiaomi system browser") but it opens a "Cannot find this page" error page. The "在 Edge 中运行" ("Run in Edge") button is unclickable.

I HAVE CHANGED NOTHING & CAN LOG ON SERVER WHILE IN THUNDERBIRD SETTINGS, BUT WHEN ASKING FOR NEW MAIL AM TOLD "LOGIN TO SERVER WITH (MY EMAIL) FAILED". THIS IS SUDDEN SINCE UPDATING TO LATEST THUNDERBIRD. LOGGING ON IN FIREFOX WITH SAME INFO IS FINE! THANKS
