Hi there,
I wanted to report an issue I've been experiencing on a popular news site, which seems to have been ongoing for several months now. I'm not sure if anyone else has been having this problem or if it's just me, but I thought it was worth bringing up.
The website in question is . https://alightmotion.net/
My expected behavior when browsing this site is to be able to open links and download files in the background while continuing to browse. However, I've noticed a few issues:
After opening a few tabs, Firefox for Android will hang for almost 30 seconds before doing a deep redraw/repaint of all tabs. It then functions normally until I try to open another background tab from the same website.
During the hang, the tab interface continues to redraw, but the pages themselves do not repaint, and no tap events work.
When the hang time ends, the pages appear to redraw from scratch, and the context pop-up for the third long-press appears on top of the tab I was looking at.
This issue is 100% reproducible for me. Long-press fails when attempting to open the third background tab, but the repaint failure occurs earlier. There seems to be something toxic happening.
Interestingly, when I go back to my Android Home screen after experiencing this issue, there is a deep refresh/repaint, as if the phone has been swapped out or the garbage collector has run.
I have tried clearing all browsing data and using a guest account on my phone, but the issue persists. I don't have any add-ons installed, and neither Chrome nor Firefox Desktop exhibit this behavior. It seems to be specific to Firefox for Android.
Thank you for your help!
