I have "Backup" files from my old laptop. And there are probably 1000 or more Mozilla and Firefox files in the backup .... is there a way to merge that old information/files with my new Firefox account ?

Do you have a folder that contains places.sqlite and a bookmarkbackups folder? If so, that should be helpful in reconstructing your settings. This article has tips on that: Recovering important data from an old profile.

Regarding the Sync key specifically, I don't know where that is stored, but perhaps you won't need it?

The Sync key is stored in the Firefox Passwords - two files (unless you were using the Master Password feature) which work in conjunction with each other.

signons.sqlite and key3.db

You can find the sync account password and the sync (recovery) key in the password manager on computers where a sync account has been set up.

Look for:

  • chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
  • chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)
