Why is the screen flickering after upgrading to firefox 7?

I have just upgraded to firefox 7 and every website that opens flickers for a second or two before becoming stable. This is terrible. I had to uninstall firefox 6 on my home pc because of problems, now firefox 7 doesn't work well on my office winXP pc. Guess it's time to switch browsers. Firefox has gone from bad to worse ever since they started rushing with upgrades.

I think I found the problem. I disabled my add-ons one at a time and found that Status-4-Evar was the culprit.

I re-enabled it and the flickering returned.

You can also try to disable hardware acceleration, which worked for me, under Options -> Advanced.
