How do I remove the transparencies in Firefox 4 ?

Objavljeno

Firefox looks beautiful with its transparencies, but I realized that some times I can't even read properly the text on the tabs because I can see other windows behind just like IE, DESKTOP WALLPAPER, ICONS or MSN when firefox is even maximized. That's not funny!

It's fine, just tell me how can I reduce the transparency level, I cant find this option....

Thanks.

You can use a theme or persona (light weight theme) to change the appearance of the toolbars and tabs. See Use themes to change the look of Firefox for details.

Oh man, I am still so angry with this situation! Firefox developers should put an option to increase or decrease the transparency level! I thought in disabling the windows aero but it does not affecting the transparency of firefox. GRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...

I am seriously thinking in migrating to Google Chrome.. I do not deserve this bad treatment... Give me options to fix this problem! I can't even read properly the text on the tabs! whats the point of that ? whats the funny getting funny looking at the transparencies if I cant even read properly the text! I have my firefox maximized but I can read text of another programs like messenger, IE, folder names behind firefox.. etc etc etc... I am so furious man! If you want to add transparencies by default so please also add an option to decrease the transparency level!

Well, Finally I got reduced the transparency level in firefox, I changed the color of my windows 7 and the transparency level. Anyway I don like how firefox is showing the text on the unselected tabs, its a little hard to read the text of them. Its sad to see that firefox is loosing functionality just for adding some nice visual effects...

Hi,

add this text:

#TabsToolbar {

 background-color: -moz-dialog !important;

}

to userChrome-example.css in "C:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\chrome" (you can open it with notepad for example)

then save changes and rename it to --> "userChrome.css"

then restart firefox

For precaution I recommend to do a copy of the original file.

found it here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1973567

they put this link too: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS_Reference/Mozilla_Extensions#-moz-appearance

I don't think an answer which ask user to edit a file in a deeply nested directory is very useful.

mleduque is right. Having said that, I applaud char01's answer and might try that. Anyone know why Mozilla has not made this a user-modified item?

I will not use FF 4 or 5 because of the transparency.
