I've upgraded my firefox to 3.6, but websites still recognise my version as 1.5, what did I go wrong during upgrade?

I've upgraded my Firefox to 3.6.4 a few months back because Photobucket won't work with older versions, but I still get those 'upgrade your browser' notifications on Youtube and Live! mail. Never really gave it much thought until today, when I went to get a plugin a notification said my version was 1.5.

Where did I go wrong during the upgrading process?

I haven't yet tried a uninstall and clean reinstall, might fix the issue, but I thought I should mention this all the same.

You have or had an extension installed (MegaUpload toolbar) that has changed the user agent from Firefox/3.6.4 to Firefox/1.5.0.7 megaupload 1.0

You can see the Firefox version at the top and the user agent at bottom of the "Help > About" window (Mac: Firefox > About Mozilla Firefox). You check (compare) what websites see: http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ - Whats My User Agent?

You can check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. Filter: general.useragent If general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then you can right-click that pref and choose Reset.
