Mozilla is open but will not search on windows 7 pc

Could you mention the steps you're following? For example, typing Tuesday in Firefox's address bar and pressing Enter to submit it to your default search engine. Firefox doesn't load the results page? Does it matter which search site is set as the default, or which one you select using the buttons at the bottom of the address bar drop-down?
