I have been using Thunderbird for years, always with the settings set to empty trash when I exit the program. Sometime in the past couple or more weeks this stopped working--I'm not sure exactly when. I am using Thunderbird to read my Yahoo mail, with one of their authorization passwords to authenticate (not sure what's the name of this, OA I think maybe).

Is this due to a change in Thunderbird? Or could Yahoo be doing something to discourage me from using a real email client?
