I suddenly can't click the "copy song link" item in Spotify anymore. It worked fine last week and works normally in Chrome.

It also fails in Troubleshoot Mode and after clearing Startup Cache.

Firefox 102.0 (64 bit) on Windows 10

Hi CortJstr, Try clearing the cookies and site data -

Sorry, I should've said in my initial post that I'd also tried that. The other buttons in the pop-out menu work normally.

But the buttons work as expected in Chrome so it seems to be a browser issue. I'm trying to figure out if it's 102 in general or a problem with my specific profile/install and if so how to correct.

You could try a new "test" Profile - Enter about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter You will see at least one Profile named default- release (or default) and This is the Profile in use and it cannot be deleted. Near the top left, select the button Create a New Profile Go through the Profile Wizard and a new Profile will be created.

Under the Profile In Use be sure to select Set As Default Profile again. This will ensure that your user Profile will launch the next time.

Under the New Profile select Launch Profile In A New Browser.

Try Spotify again and see if it works. If it does, we'll have to figure out what's causing the issue in your Default Profile or recover data to your New Profile.

Thanks for that. I created a new profile and launched a browser window window with it. I didn't copy anything over or sign in to my Firefox account so it should be totally fresh.

The copy button in Spotify still isn't clickable.

I'm also having this problem too!

Deleted all my cookies, logged in and out, even did the new profile thing mentioned here... nothing. Works fine on Chrome.

Anyone find a solution yet?

@CortJstr

It is possible that your Kaspersky security software is causing this issue,

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.

I tried again after the 102.0.1 update. I can now click the button and get the "link copied to clipboard" popup but it doesn't actually copy. I get exactly the same result on my work computer which doesn't have Kaspersky installed.

It continues to work as expected in Chrome

Maybe check dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled on the about:config page.

That was already set to true (default)

you can use Google itself for that too. For example, if you want to find a Spotify link, search the song / artist / album and add spotify at the end, for example amon tobin yasawas spotify

You'll get a handful of open.spotify links. Instead of opening the link, right-click on it and choose 'Copy link address'.

It works just as well with any other service, such as Deezer, YT and Bandcamp. Just add the name of the service at the end... :slightly_smiling_face:

If you have a Spotify desktop player, it's possible to get those Spotify links from there too. Windows XP is possibly one of the neatest operating systems... But nearly no modern program supports it anymore. It is possible to get Opera on it, though, specifically the stable version. It's also the last version that supports XP... That will fit the web player.
