My firefox was perfect, set up exactly how I wanted it and since the latest update it's all screwed up... for starters, when I open the browser I just want it to go to Google.ca and for some reason I can't find where to set a home screen up anywhere. So it loads to a blank page, not even Google, and there's no home button, so every single time I open up my browser I need to put in google.ca... annoying. Secondly no matter what I select in the options, it seems to want to bring back my previous tabs every time I close the browser, I just want it to close out and open a new tab each time... why is this so difficult? If there is any advice out there, please help... I'm sure I have more, but if those could get fixed for now it would just make using it so much better... image is of my new "home" screen... terrible...

Home Page

At this time, there is no option to add a home page, but I believe it may be added in a future version.

Tip: If you just need to search for something, type it in the top bar and hit enter. Your search will be performed on your preferred search engine automatically.

Close Tabs

To have Firefox automatically close all the tabs, go to Settings and chose Delete browsing data on quit and check Open tabs. After that, you will need to select Quit from the main menu in order for your tabs to close. It doesn't work just to close the app from the recent apps screen. I understand that in the previous version, there was an option to have Firefox close your tabs when you closed the app from the recent apps screen. It appears that is no longer an option. I hope they bring this feature back in a future release.

I appreciate your response. Although it still doesn't explain why they would change things in such a major way... it still frustrates me to no end that when I close my tabs they don't actually close and I need to click on the quit button instead... it's like they've taken a process and just added a bunch of unnecessary steps for no reason... I sincerely hope they look at and change this stuff ASAP... Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

At the very least, they need to bring back the toggle to NOT reopen tabs at startup.

That is what it was.

Not an option that closed tabs when the app shut down... it was an option to prevent it from reopening tabs at startup.

Right, I didn't do the best job of explaining that in my original complaint, but I'm glad you got the gist of what I was talking about. I'm also glad I'm not the only one who's disappointed in the new update...

Agree- update wipes out all settings from previous version such as search providers. Tabs remain even when moving to another site. No way to have home screen or home button. Are you kidding me? I use NoScript add on- now I have to make several picks to change permissions.

Exactly, this just seems like ridiculous unnecessary changes... I sure hope they fix most of these things ASAP... I've used Firefox for years on PC, multiple Android devices and anytime its been possible. Since this latest update I've even considered switching to Chrome, but I've found similar issues with it as well as other things that bother me with it. I just don't understand why they would make the changes with Firefox that they did...

What Were you thinking? This nightmare you call a new version is an abomination. Anything I want to customize.... Such as home screen. Why don't you make an option for new version or old version, then when you find almost everyone wants the old version....you will see how badly you screwed up. You had a good thing going....if it's not broke... DON'T FIX IT!! I can't get around this insecure website crap, can't add tabs, or delete them with ease. Most importantly, I want a nice clean home page.....simple Google & their ever changing logo. Not all these choices, options..... Those should be under settings. The whole thing is awful.
