I can't log in. Account looks like it disappeared. It keeps telling me to set up an account but I've been using it for many years. All is lost.

For whatever reason Thunderbird forgot about the existence of your profile. Follow the instructions on how to move a profile. This will tell Thunderbird again where your profile is stored. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder_-_Thunderbird#Use_the_Profile_Manager_to_move_your_profile

If the 'disappearance' happened after a TB update, you might be able to restore it by deleting the global search sqlite file:
