who are n46.network-auth.com

Objavljeno

Annoyingly when I type that in I am told there are 20 posts about this and yet I can't find them.

I have NO IDEA what is going on, but here's the back story: Normally my phone (or more so: firefox) works ok if connected to my WiFi network. I have a LAN which has a few other devices on it. One being a machine running XBMC.

To stop getting annoyed while watching movies I set up "parental control" so after a certain time, the phone has no internet access. (Stops e-mails etc getting through and interrupting the show)

However, once I applied the "parental control" the phone complains when I connect to the WiFi network.

It actually requires me to connect then connect again.

Mean time, FireFox is opened with a "tab waiting" to be viewed.

When I open Firefox and look it has a URL for: n46.network-auth.com/(something)

What is going on?

Who are these people and/or why is Firefox pointing me there?

Where are you setting the "parental control"?

Vlasnik pitanja

In the modem/router.

Linksys WRT1900ACS.

I have since been told this is a feature (?) of programs that send authentication requests to an external place for validation for access of the local LAN. Something about it is "built in to the HTTP stack".

But as the modem is blocking ALL traffic, the link can't be opened.

On a side note: Could you help explain where the links which are/were relevant to my question I originally asked here?

As I said: I typed in the question and got a reply saying there are links about this found.

Where?
