After an auto upgrade, the Firefox 70.0b5 was all grayed out, nothing worked when I started it. So I did a lot of research and re-started my computer. Now the Firefox works, but my previous sessions/tabs still not restored. I went to all history etc but it did not have all my tabs. I went to about:profiles and the local directory seems to be empty but the root directory has files. In the root directory, I looked into sessionstore, previous.js etc folders but there was just a whole lot of letters. I am not a technical person and don't know much about computers. How do I restore the previous session tabs that were on my screen before the upgrade? It's quite urgent and I appreciate your assistance as soon as practicable. Thank you so much!

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player or remove it using these links; Uninstall Flash Player | Windows {web link} Uninstall Flash Player | Mac {web link}

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

You may have corrupt sessionstore [v56] sessionstore.jsonlz4 file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Don't delete the files if you need to rescue any data from them, just move them out of the profile folder to some location where Firefox doesn't look for them. You can try to read out their contents using this tool: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html

Hi,

1. Thank you for your prompt response. I don't know much about computers, tech, IT etc. but this is what happened when I tried to execute the above. I uninstalled the Flash Player.

When I did this ...."Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox."

I received this error message: "There is no application set to open the document “recovery.jsonlz4”." * How to retrieve previous session prior to upgrade?

2. This version of Fire Fox does not seem to restore previous session like before, even though I added it to my preferences section. I don't see it in the 3 bar section like before. Did the sync affect this? What to do?

Thank you so much in advance!
