Hi Thierry, I can't think of a good reason for a desktop shortcut to open two tabs or two windows to the same address.

Does it make any difference whether Firefox was already running when you use the shortcut?

Is DDE enabled for the .URL file extension if you check this in the Windows Registry editor in case this makes a difference? I don't know if you can check this via the user interface on Windows 7.

Hi Thierry, my main question is:

Does it make any difference whether Firefox was already running when you use the shortcut?

Test #1:

Open Firefox first using its desktop shortcut. Then try the URL shortcut. Do you get two Google tabs/windows?

Test #2:

Close all Firefox windows first. Then try the URL shortcut. Do you get two Google tabs/windows?
