Last night firefox stopped letting me open any https websites. Chrome doesn't have any problems, just firefox. I have version 63.0.3. I have tried everything that I find on the internet to try. I have windows 10 and am using the windows defender firewall, there are no family settings that are set up. Can anyone help? Below is a screen shot of what I am getting when I try to go to google.com

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

Thanks Fred. As I stated before I have no other anti virus software installed on the computer. I have tried everything in all those articles. I have been at this for a few hours now and still not working.

Now I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It's pretty bad when I can't even get to the mozilla page!

This Connection Is Untrusted is sometimes caused because the computer system clock is wrong. Check the time / date / timezone settings.

The issuer of the certificate is UTILILAB Search GUARDIAN

  • Issuer C=EN, CN=UTILILAB Search GUARDIAN CA 2

Does that ring a bell?

You can set this pref to true on the about:config page in case other software adds its root certificate to the Windows certificate store.

  • security.enterprise_roots.enabled = true

Fred-Windows defender. Turned it off yesterday and no change

Cor-el- I think I tried that yesterday and it worked but I didn’t think I could leave that as true. Is that something I can do?

A Google search suggests that this might be related to some malware.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Cor-el, thanks for the reply. I downloaded all those and ran them. Re-started my computer and still the same error message.
