Trying to download sync to i phone. When I touch Firefox for ios, I get a message that "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid". Help.

I followed the directions on my computer to sync other devices to my Firefox browser. The only other device I want to sync. is my iphone. I followed the prompts and Mozilla came in on my I phone. The page says "Browse uninterrupted with Firefox Sync. Below in a green capsule shaped box, it says Firefox for IOS. I assume I need to click that to sync. When I click it, I am told that Safari does not recognize the address. I have no idea if my phone is synced to my gmail, evan tho I clicked that in prefences.

Why doesn't Safari recognize the address? How can I be sure my phone is synced to my browser?
