All of my carefully stored, categorized, and labeled bookmarks have disappeared. I have been thru help and support no one seems to be able to help.

Open the Bookmarks Sidebar and see if your Bookmarks appear there. From the keyboard use {Ctrl + B} to open the Bookmarks Sidebar.
If your Bookmarks appear there do this.
I already did this. As I said before I cannot find my bookmarks
If they don't appear in the Bookmarks Sidebar and can't see them when using the button I wonder if you might may more than one Profile.
Type about:profiles in the address bar and hit Enter. Is there more than one Profile shown there?
The star with a line under it does not appear on my screen or keyboard. And the about:profiles shows I only have one profile. I still can not find my bookmarks.
is there anyway to get help with my problem. No one responds to my inquiries

Do you see any bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)?
- Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

If you open the Library window -- Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks" -- do you have any of your bookmarks when you click the three categories in the left column?
- Bookmarks Toolbar
- Bookmarks Menu
- Other Bookmarks
If all your bookmarks are missing from there, try a Restore. That will wipe any new bookmarks you've added since the time of the backup that you restore. If you need those new bookmarks, add the optional steps:
(1) Optional Export current bookmarks. See: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks
(2) Restore backup file. See: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
(3) Optional Import the bookmarks you exported in step #1. See: Import Bookmarks from an HTML file
(4) Optional If you imported in Step #3, find the Imported Bookmarks folder and drag the bookmark(s) you want to keep to the proper location(s).
Does that help?
By the way, if you have seen the error message mentioned in the following article, please follow the steps in the article first: Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message.
I do not get any error messages, The bookmarks are simply gone. There was nothing in this message that I haven't already tried.
Can you open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) via the Bookmarks menu (Show All Bookmarks)?
- you can tap the Alt key or press the F10 key to show the hidden Menu Bar temporarily
Do you have any bookmarks backups in the bookmarkbackups folder in the Firefox profile folder?
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
- https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
See also:

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page or Places Maintenance can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created

We can't see what you see, so please tell us what you see.
When you go to the Restore menu, do you see any backups listed from before your data loss?
If there are no backups listed from the correct time, do have an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop from a recent Firefox Refresh?
If you have such a folder, click inside, then into the semi-randomly-named profile folder, and check for a bookmarkbackups folder. If there is one, the files inside will show the date they were created. Anything look useful?
still no bookmarks
while in the bookmarks library pressing the alt key or the f10 key does absolutely nothing
Hi cascadewaterrat, can you tell me:
- In the Library, on the Restore menu, what is listed?
This article describes where to find that menu if you are having difficulty: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer.
i get error messages that these add-ons are not compatable with my version of firefox
