Another difference in Safe Mode is that hardware acceleration of graphics is disabled. Since that feature is useful for the appearance of text (smoother anti-aliasing), it would be unfortunate if you had to disable it, but do you want to test that anyway so we could pin the blame on Firefox being incompatible with your graphics card/chipset driver software? Here's how:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Advanced. On the right side, with the "General" mini-tab active, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available".

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it up again. Any difference?

If that helps, you may want to check whether graphics card/chipset driver updates are available for your system. This article suggests safe ways to do that: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.

You know   (just between you and I):   I'm facing the same   'problem'   on   YouTube,   and I find it pretty annoying,   but at the same time I realize that   YouTube   and   HTML5   is   'a work in progress',   with still some limitations regarding it's use.
And I tell myself to just put up with it;   it'll get better,   given time.
Sorry I haven't been able to come up with a solution for you,   but who knows: maybe somebody else will   .......

Couldn't let it go just yet   ........
When you go to the Control panel   > Programs  > Flash;   click on  Flash  and the   Flash Player Settings Manager  shows up.
Then click on   'Updates';   is it updated   ?
Then I found this add-on,   and it says:

Why you should try this add-on? Because for a lot of people the HTML5 player is laggy and consumes much more material resources (CPU, RAM) than Flash® Player. Once installed you have nothing to do and you can easily switch between both players if needed. Plus, this add-on also works for embedded YouTube™ videos, and if more than 300k people are using it it's because it works for them! Give it a try!

The way I read all this:

(1) YouTube works fine with the Flash player, subject to a delayed start as the site sorts out that the HTML5 player isn't going to work due to the about:config workaround.

I can't replicate this, but the slowness is consistent with your original issue.

(2) The HTML5 player in your Firefox is unusually sluggish in stopping one video and starting a new one -- or perhaps it's switching from a running video to a new one without manually stopping the running video.

But, you said

safe mode it doesn't do it
disabled all additional components - still does it

What did you mean by "all additional components"? The most critical would be any extensions that affect videos, whether recorders/downloaders, filters of some kind (for example, ad filters that try to skip/bypass pre-roll video ads), or anything proxying the video request (for example, to bypass regional restrictions).

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. All extensions are optional. If in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?

This article suggests safe ways to do that: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL.

wow it seems to be working :o my video card seems to not be updatable since it's the from factory one and there's no update from the pc's update thing but sincerely anti-aliasing? who cares :p

thanks! that works!

p.s. in Flash it's still selected that option so i guess it was just ff that didn't like it that much!

It might degrade your Google Maps experience too, but I guess if you notice too many graphics issues, you can come back with more info about your device in a new thread and we can help you hunt for updates.
