When I use Firefox for the IMVU online catalog and click to try on, it tells me I need to choose an application, but not which one. I hope you can help. I shop from the online catalog a lot, besides in the client. As I said before a launch application box, pops up, asks me to choose an application, when I click choose and look I have no clue which it wants and I can not just type in IMVU.com etc. I hope you can help, thank you.

I'm trying to compare with my Windows. I click the Browse button and get Program Files. But I can navigate around pretty freely.

Try typing or pasting this into the "File name" box and press Enter to get to where the forum thread is suggesting to look (the % signs are required):

%APPDATA%

Can you find IMVU or IMVUClient there?

Actually, I tested by renaming a file with a .wxyz extension and trying to open that, so it might not be the same dialog you're seeing.

I searched a little bit on IMVU forums, and it seems there may be a system-level setting for what to do with special links starting with imvu:// (instead of the usual http:// or https://) that Firefox has not picked up. Can you tell whether Firefox is trying to open an imvu:// link? If you hover your mouse over the button, that might appear in the notification area toward the bottom of the tab.

Did this used to work before and stop working recently, or has it never worked?

This forum post says it there should be a program in the IMVU client folder called IMVUQualityAgent.exe that you can use for Try On: http://www.imvu.com/catalog/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpbb2&f.... I'm not in a position to test this myself. You may want to scroll up for more context.

Thank you, I went to that link, it said to go to options then applications to add IMVU, only problem is IMVU does not exist there and I don't know how or if you can add it, so still searching. I do appreciate you trying to help me. ☺

On IMVU u can shop from the client or online. Online when I click on try it instead of the item going into the client I get a box with a msg. Launch Application then it says this link needs to be opened with and application and to choose one, when I click on choose, I see nothing that would help and there is no option to add it.

What does your launch application screen look like? Is it the one where Windows shows recommended applications on the top part and blank on the lower part? There should be a way to expand the lower part to find your IMVU program, but I don't really have any more information about where it is than what I saw in that forum thread.

Described as above and it takes me to my program files for FF, IMVU is not listed I scrolled down, also tried typing in IMVU and nothing.

Thank you so much for all your help. Turns out the solution was steering me in the face. For anyone else having this problem, here is what you do.

When you go to IMVU shopping online, click on try it when the box pops up just go to the bottom and check remember my choice.

I did not see that yesterday not sure how I missed it.

Have a great weekend.
