bold text I am getting a flood of messages about viruses from McAfee and Monzilla Firefox ESR. Not sure if these are real or a scam to click on a link. Need some help in how to stop messages or find out if my laptop is infected with viruses.

When the browser is open - whether with tabs or not - it disables NVIDIA ShadowPlay. The NVIDIA overlay says “a protected app is preventing desktop capture,” and I’d agree with that if it only happened when tabs with DRM content were open, but it happens even in an empty browser.

Hello This evening as I was going to pay for a book on a site well known to me, I notice that I don’t see a lock to the left of the address. I read your page 'Mixed content blocking in Firefox' after seeing that its little French sister was not up to date and it seems that it is the version of Firefox installed tonight that is behind this big change. Even my bank’s site no longer shows padlocks and it’s destabilizing. Why such a change without explanation??? I only read information about the split view in the same tab (which seems very useful) but nothing about this disappearance of the lock... Can you confirm that it is indeed the version from tonight 27/03/2026 that made this change at first glance worrying.

I am running windows 10, firefox 148.0.2 (64-bit) and when signing onto amazon.com I am greeted by this annoying pop up. Screenshot attached,

"Windows Security Making sure it's you

Please sing in to amazon.com This request comes from Firefox, published by Mozilla Corporation"

I do not find a need for this pop up and would like to know how to disable it. If you know how, please let me know!

Since several days every time I visit a webpage I see that there is a popunder from syscsrv.com!

What can I do to stop this?

I can't delete the malware "Startfenster. I tried to find help with "Google"-Search. Without any success! This malware exists for me in "Firefox" only. Other browsers are not affected. Perhaps anyone can help me... Thank's!

A pop-up screen often appears when I use Firefox. It says hat I have a virus and that I need to call a phone number to remove it. It claims to be Norton,but I doubt that it ts. I have attempted to remove this with Microsoft Defender, SuperAntiSpyware and Trend Housecall but none of them work. Can you help me?

Hello... I'm just a novice user so I am not really sure here. This is my problem, I tried to view my gmail account and I got the pic in post. I'm not sure what to think, I like to know if it's secure to use Firefox? Was prompted to download a program to Firefox before I paid my phone bill. I did not recognize the web address or name that was shown, and the account number from which recent payment was deducted did match any accounts I hold or held in the past. I cancelled the action immediately, without downloading, but am still concerned. I found nothing on the internet about this, just got a summation chat AI response that stated the phone company had no download/extension for Firefox. Has anyone had any experience like this or could someone shed some light on this?

see what appears when I open firefox as an uploaded image: has anyone else had this appear... can not find a way to report what in my view is fraud...'AI' said no new terms,conditions,privacy by firefox, mozilla since spring so is it a 'page overlay' as 'AI' said? also I can not find a way that will open to report to mozilla, can some one forward to report fraud?

If there only one question I get an answer to that would be: how can I delete it and block it forever?

I'm getting announcements of a virus threat that purports to come from Mozilla Firefox. Usually one or all three of the attached small windows that say: 1. "Viruses Found. Antivirus notification. via https+++d512ucanaffc739fe48g.cgm-defender.pro" With a Dismiss button. 2. Attention! Click here to secure your data!. via https+++d512ucanaffc739fe48g.cgm-defender.pro" With a Dismiss button. 3. "System Warning!. Click here to remove them! via https+++d512ucanaffc739fe48g.cgm-defender.pro" With a Dismiss button. I have run full scans and offline scans with MS Defender, but these warnings still appear. Is this legit? I suspect these are a virus of some sort. Either way, how do I deal with this?

I had switched to Firefox some time ago because of the privacy-invading AI that Google and Microsoft were implementing at the time, and it appeared Mozilla had their consumers' interests in mind when it came to privacy and performance. I suppose even they are willing to shoot themselves in the foot with the market failure that is generative AI, despite the recent reports about Copilot's abysmal sales proving that this maneuver is incredibly short-sighted.

Not only are these AI "features" enabled by default upon updating, the options to disable each of them are all hidden away in the about:config page. On top of that, having these options enabled leads to worse performance overall, and the breach of privacy inherent to these features is quite worrisome as well.

The best step now is to remove these features completely. If Mozilla won't remove them, they should at least have them disabled by default, making them opt-in as opposed to the opt-out situation currently in place. Perhaps they could be listed as proper options somewhere in about:preferences so that people don't have to comb through the about:config list?

I know I would appreciate not having to switch browsers again, and I'm sure plenty of users would like to have their privacy respected as well. We don't want to see this browser become as terrible to use as other big-name brands. If Mozilla keep pushing these invasive features, we will find something else to use.
