Since updating to version 135 all the tabs crash. I've uninstalled\reinstalled, deleted app data, disabled AV and created a new profile. The only time it works is in troubleshooting mode. I've looked at extensions and plugins and I'm only seeing OpenH264 video codec and Widevine content decryption. I've disabled those but still get the crashed tabs.

I'm also not generating any crash logs.

On May 1st, when I launched Firefox(afternoon some time on US East coast) it ran an update to 138.0.1. When it was done, it did not launch. So I clicked the icon on my desktop and it came up, but then closed out after about 15 seconds. When I reopened it, it asked to continue in troubleshooting mode or refresh. I tried both. No luck. I restarted and even uninstall and reinstalled the latest version as well as tried installing 137.

I have tried with virus/malware protection/firewall off. I have restarted. My page file is default. I tried renaming the firefox.exe to something else. I tried creating an new firefox profile(firefox.exe -p) but that crashes too.

I installed the latest version of Firefox Nightly and it stays open just fine. But when I launch the regular firefox, they both close.

I also installed the Firefox app from the Windows store and it behaves the same as the one from the mozilla website.

Endless crashes, going on for months (4-5) and no sign of any fixes. As far as I'm concerned, Firefox is totally broken and I'll have to switch away. It's unusable. A crash every ten minutes.

Bonjour, Voilà, depuis une mise à jour de Windows 11 la kb 5054979 et la kb 5055523 fêtent ensemble j'arrive à accéder à Firefox à l'aide de la souris mais dès que je tape au clavier Firefox plante. J'ai essayer la mise à jour des pilotes du clavier croyant à un problème de drivers mais il est à jour. J'ai désinstallé les mises à jour mais rien n'y fait J'aimerai savoir d’où peu provenir le problème ?. Firefox envoie bien des infos sur le plantage et essaye de remettre les onglets mais le problème reste le même. merci pour votre aide ? 1. Whenever I open Firefox for the first time since boot, it crashes, and I have to click on it a second time for a window to actually show up. Once it shows up, it's forgotten all about the previous session - none of my tabs re-open, the window opens up maximized.

2. Whenever I close the last open window, my previous tabs are completely forgotten. Checking task manager reveals that there are 10 or 11 Firefox processes that are still running.

• I have a second Windows 11 device that DOESN'T exhibit any of these issues and works correctly. Closing Firefox does not leave any running processes around.
• "Open previous windows and tabs" is enabled in options.
• "Firefox will: Remember history" is set in the History options.
• Both devices are running Firefox 137.0.2 64 bit.

Ok for some reason any of my browsers tabs are crashing I just do whatever it is whether i search or watch movie and after some time 'Gah! your tab crashed' and it's pretty annoying, my discord happens to restart it self and I've exhausted literally anything from re-installing, deleting caches folders absolutely anything.

I have Firefox on two separate computers, a desktop running Win7Prof64bit and a laptop running Win10Pro 64bit. Both Firefox installations crash constantly, ie every 10 - 15 mins. They show the "Gah! Firefox just crashed. Please tell us what you were doing", and the box to return the data to Mozilla. With Restore This Tab at the bottom.

I always send you these reports but in about a year, the problem remains the same. Nothing has improved, I never hear back from you. Two different PCs, two different OSs, constant reports, no improvement. Why do I never hear from you? Why does this problem continue endlessly? I'm wasting my time sending you the reports. You take no notice. If you do, why does the problem continue and why do I never hear from you?

hi, i genuinely have no idea why this is happening because it started crashing all of a sudden and it doesnt happen mid-use, i cant use it at all and restarting firefox just results in another crash and so on. what am i supposed to do??

Hi everyone, I've been experiencing a persistent issue where my Firefox (Windows 10) randomly crashes or closes. I recently noticed that this always happens when a JSON file appears in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution The strange thing is that this file shouldn't even be there, as this is my personal computer and it is not managed by any organization. I have already tried deleting or renaming the file, but after a seemingly random period, it gets recreated automatically. Here’s what I have tried so far, without success: - Deleting/renaming the file - Checking the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox (but the "Mozilla" folder does not exist there) - I have never used any third-party antivirus software (only Windows Defender) Does anyone have an idea where this file might be coming from or how I can prevent it from being recreated? I’m not very tech-savvy, so I would greatly appreciate simple explanations or step-by-step instructions. Thanks in advance for any help!

Thought only Ubuntu's Linux Firefox 136.0 was 'unstable' on my Gateway E-475M laptop - crashes, restores session then freezes only to log me out, then completely locking up requiring holding down power button and rebooting...

Now, even Firefox 136.0 on WIN7 is crashing, then restores session only to go to the 'blue screen of death' requiring holding down the power button and rebooting...

Evidently, the problem is not with Ubuntu or WIN7, but either: Firefox (Linux or win version); or, the Gateway E-475M laptop (2.0GHz CPU, 4Gb RAM, 8Gb swapfile, Harddrive at 61% usage, Linux/Win on separate booting partitions, LAN + usb & pci wifi's, etc.) - both OS's used to work fine, but as upgrades to Firefox have come along, they have steadily gotten more and more unstable...

Sometime, I'm only making a bookmark, and it starts this circus act... does it on differing websites, etc. Firefox is the only thing loaded - using two windows on two different monitors ...at a loss as to what to do - Firefox is supposed to be THE lightest-weight browser out there, and was for awhile... the only extension used on both systems is "NoScript" - could that be causing the disturbance in the force?!?

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. I notice so I am not sure what is causing it to crash it could be ublock origin as I use that to block ads on youtube that is the only thing I can think of or maybe the return dislike button but here is my crash report below ID bp-8f27f4a1-7ed0-492e-823d-e57af0250304

Firefox can't seem to be able to import from Vivaldi. Whether I try, it just always takes on and on until it crashes. I remember it working whenever I tried to import browser data before trying to import from Vivaldi to Firefox.

Since 2/11, I have eleven aboutg:crashes crash reports. Tab crashes (i.e Youtube), browser crashes. Sometimes when I have Firefox and Chrome open at the same time, for an extended length of time, (I reluctantly use Chrome when Firefox has a problem with a site) they both crash.

I've opened related threads here in the past with no help offered, so maybe I can get a suggestion where else to get help?

Firefox crashes every day or so on my home computer. The most common error message is "kmode exception not handled." I've tried the suggested fixes. Nothing helps. The crashes are not being recorded in "about crashes" or in %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\. So it seems the crash reporter has to be fixed before the problem causing the crashes can be identified. Firefox does not crash on my office computer and no other program causes my home computer to crash. Thank you.
