I had a problem with my Zotac PC and had to do a reset, when done none of my passwords or bookmarks came back after the resety even though Firefox asked for my password and email to send me a code but everything is gone and I have way to reach some of my frequently used sites, can you please help? I have updated firefox on my desktop, with quite some open tabs, where Firefox promted that after the upgrade all tabs would be restored. However, none of them were restored nor could I find them in the history. I guess I had all opened in a private window. IMHO the prompt could have warned for this and now I have to reconstruct all these tabs with my memory.

Is my assumption right?

I can't say enough trashy things to you that I don't have the time to deal with this issue.

Hi there,

I've had a Firefox account on my workstation at work so that I can take my browsing with me when I am at a different workstation, sign in and sync no problems.

This morning I was provisioned a new laptop workstation and when I attempted to sync my profile nothing shows up. I am pretty confident I've signed back in to the correct account since I do this from time to time. Unfortunately the old workstation is unrecoverable hence why I was given a new one so I can't backup and import.

Checking the email account I used to set up the profile I found an email from March saying the account would be deleted since I haven't been active. This can't be the case because I have been using this account five days a week for the last 7 years.

Any suggestions on how to recover my profile and move forward?

I verified my Profile is intact. No change yet ALL of my Bookmarks are gone. so is History. Now what? ho recovery bookmarks? I do not want a new profile. I do not have a lot of time. What do you recommend?

ich hatte bereits Anfang des Jahres beim Einrichten meines Laptops Probleme damit, meine Lesezeichen wiederherzustellen. Damals habe ich es jedoch mithilfe eines älteren Profils geschafft.

Nun musste ich den Laptop neu aufsetzen und finde die passende Sicherungsdatei der Lesezeichen nicht mehr. Ich wollte die Lesezeichen daher wieder wie gewohnt zurückholen. Leider gibt es jedoch kein älteres Profil als 24 Stunden. Das bedeutet, dass alle Lesezeichen verschwunden sind.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, auf ein Profil zuzugreifen, das ein oder zwei Wochen oder sogar vier Monate alt ist? Und vor allem wie komm ich da ran?

The "one sentence" in the heading states the problem. I am unable to use Firefox. Using Safari to make this post.

Firefox loads. It opens windows (I had fourteen open when I last used it successfully; I have many, many tabs). Then it removes each window from the screen. Firefox is in the Menu bar, but no windows are displayed. The windows still show in the list when selecting Window in the menu bar. Selecting a window in that list has no visible effect. File>New Window opens a new window, which works as expected. With one new window open, File>New Window opens a second.

Typing a few characters in the address bar opens a dropdown with a list of tabs, each with the affordance, Switch to Tab. Clicking on one takes down the list but does not open a window.

I would like, for a start, instructions on how to use Firefox starting afresh with no windows. First: having set aside the data that causes this problem. I suppose that might be simply a new profile. But would like instructions from a person interested in pursuing the problem with me while I continue with the rest of my life.

I'm willing to delete some data from the failing profile, is there is reason to do that, but would like to preserve at least a list of the URLs of the tabs of the windows. Or to learn how to see those in the profile data.

I see four profiles:
