Keep getting prompted to active VPN but every time I try it just keeps looping back to the sign in start pop up. The VPN button is always gray with an X even after sign in.

I try to compose an e-mail and the address appears from contact list but when you click on it to put in the address in displaces the first two letters and a cross in red. the adress does not work therfore and Ihave to typr it in every time. Very annoying if there are multiple p[eople to send the message t@!'

after looking through many Forums and solutions on the internet, nothing can resolve my issue, so i hope this one can help. I just switched to Firefox and have the reaccuring problem, that i cannot load sites, that are located in my local network (e.g. homeassistant.local; 192.168.8.265:2283).

I always get a "server not found" error from firefox and the certificate information, that i am communicating through an unsecured connection (haha, yes good joke firefox. I know my local services do not all have an SSL certificate.) I already tried altering settings for Proxy, DNS over https, MACos Safety settings but nothing helps. I am jsut looking for that one "trust this domain" button, that i get on 'ALL OTHER BROWSERS like Chrome, Safari and Edge...

P.S.: All the services are up and running and i can reach them through any other Browser.

I am reporting a performance issue specifically related to Google Search's AI features (AI Overviews) in Firefox 149.0.2 on macOS.

The Issue: When an AI-generated summary appears in Google Search results, GPU usage spikes significantly, reaching up to 212%. This causes the laptop to overheat and triggers high fan speeds.

Critical Comparison:

Firefox 149.0.2: Extreme GPU load and performance degradation when rendering Google AI elements.

Google Chrome 147.0.7727.56: Works perfectly with normal GPU usage under the same conditions.

Tested on two different MacBooks: MacBook Pro (A1502), 16GB RAM, i7 (2015) — OS: macOS Monterey. MacBook Pro (MMQX3), 64GB RAM, M1 Max (2021) — OS: macOS Sequoia (15.x/Tahoe).

In previous versions of Firefox, using an alternative search engine was seamless: I just typed my keywords and clicked the specific search engine icon.

With the current update, the workflow is much longer. Now I have to:

1. Type the keywords 2. Click the dropdown arrow 3. Select the alternative search engine icon 4. Hit Enter

Why was this UX change made? It feels like a step backward.

i used to be able to access Gemini by clicking an icon in the leftmost column of any Firfox screen. I nw get an error 502 message. How can restore access to Gemini

When opening websites the images are not opening, only blank boxes appear. I don't have any settings for security causing problems because I turned them off previously. simply cannot find what is driving this. Thanks, Don

Since quite a while Firefox is trying to enhance our browsing security by "upgrading" connections from "http" to "https." This may generally be a good idea, but it is literally driving me crazy at the moment because it also does so for "internal" sites I host within my LAN (such as my "Home Assistant" instance or a Zigbee coordinator, accessible via its own hostname and web UI). However, these connections will fail, because I don't have certificates for my internal hosts, and thus there is no "https" listener. :-(

(I use my own subdomain "<host>.city.internal.example.org" internally, so Firefox may be confused?)

I feel this behavior has become "more aggressive" within the last few days, so maybe it is due to a Firefox update?

Is there a bullet-proof way to prevent Firefox from doing so?

I've already set the below options to false: - dom.security.https_first - dom.security.https_first_for_custom_ports - dom.security.https_first_for_local_addresses - dom.security.https_first_for_unknown_suffixes - dom.security.https_first_pbm - dom.security.https_first_schemeless - dom.security.https_only_mode - dom.security.https_only_mode.upgrade_local - dom.security.https_only_mode_pbm

I'm close to abandoning Firefox in favor of a different browser, because at the moment it's close to being unusable for me anymore... :-(

When opening the "Show all history" window (command Y) the text is garbled. I have checked the font book and there are no duplicated and I have validated all fonts. I have tried using the troubleshoot mode and occasionally the text is rendered correctly but mostly it has no effect. There is no other location in the browser where the text is garbled. I have tried changing the text in the advanced settings and both performance settings are disabled.

When using the built-in Firefox AI sidebar and clicking the "Summarize page" button, I consistently get the error: "431 Request Header Fields Too Large" from chatgpt.com.

Cookies were cleared multiple times Extensions (including AdGuard) were disabled The issue persists

Previously, changing a privacy setting temporarily helped: switching from "block all cross-site cookies" to "block cross-site tracking cookies and isolate other cross-site cookies". After that, the feature started working.

However, after restarting the browser today, the issue returned, and changing this setting no longer helps.

I would also like to note that currently there is no way to disable or hide the "Summarize page" button, even though I did not need it initially. I tried to configure things so it would work properly, but was unable to do so.

Steps to reproduce:

Open any webpage Open the Firefox AI sidebar Click "Summarize page" Observe error 431

Expected behavior: Page summary should be generated successfully.

Actual behavior: The request fails with HTTP 431 error.

I'm having problems with AOL ad blockers. The program says that I have ad blocker plus turned on in my Firefox extensions. I turned everything off in the exension menu and still have the same issue.

Hi folks, I restarted Firefox today on my Macbook and now the Restore Previous Session option is no longer working. I've tried the Sessionstore fix described here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-restore-browsing-session-backup but it is not doing the trick. I've used it multiple times in the past and it has always worked up until now.

I've since opened a couple of new tabs and then shut Firefox down to see if the Restore Previous Session will bring those particular tabs back. However the Restore previous session remains greyed out. I suspect it may be to do with the latest update to 149.0.2. I downloaded and installed that two days ago, but only restarted this morning so I think the update would have been done then. Are there known issues with this update, and is a fix coming? What are the step-to-step instructions in order to use Free VPN? (see attached image) I did a query on the web and it came back stating that Firefox VPN was not free. I am confused. Thank you for your prompt assistance.

I wanted to try the new split screen feature. The guide says you need the latest version 149. When I check 'About Firefox' it says I have version 140.9 but it also says 'Firefox up-to-date'. Could you advise how I can update to latest version 149 please?
