I had Firefox browser (and lots of bookmarks) on my desktop computer. I recently had a problem with my Windows 10 and needed to reinstall the Windows 10 on that computer. I then reinstalled the Firefox browser. It appears that all of my bookmarks are gone. How do I find them and restore them to my computer. I am in a panic mode. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am so stupid. I had a brand new Mac in November, and sadly accidentially installed firefox twice withouth knowing.

(once installed in Programms once installed on my Desktop, because I was not used to the Mac Installation method with dragging simply the file and not to choose installation directory)

Today I wanted to clean my desktop a little so i moved every icon to wherever it needed to be. I moved also firefox to - Programms on mac and it asked me if i want to keep both - i clicked yes.

Sadly now I have FireFox and Firefox Copy in my Programmfiles but my Firefox bookmakrs and everything is missing now (Because, it was safed on the "firefox" that was "installed" on my Desktop. thats a big nightmare, because i make everyday bookmarks for my work and everything, now the firefox that is installed on the programms is not containing anything, every bookmark, every stored session (from tab session manager addon) is gone....

How can I get these bookmarks back? I dont have normaly overwritten something, I just need to know, how can I access these Bookmark files again? Why even are these things missing now, I just moved firefox Icon to the programm folders from my desktop...

I had the "firefox Account sync activated" now i logged in intoe the empty firefox but nothing has changed no bookmarks, no addon files I could cry for real so much work lost thats a nightmare...

If someone could help I sent money instantly...

Every time I open Firefox (version 109.0.1) during the first 15 minutes my bookmarks sidebar disappears on its own at some point. Why is this happening and how can I stop it? Thanks

Goodmorning, I'm trying to make a backup of my bookmarks on my desktop in order to transfer this to my laptop, but it doesn't work. I also tried to make an export file which doesn't go either. The reason why I want these files is that the laptop (that had not been used for a couple of weeks) synchronized my desktop bookmarks with older data. So I put the correct data back in Firefox of the desktop and that worked fine. Now I want the same data in my laptop but I can´t make a suitable file. What more can I do?

So this crazy new update has broken my Firefox in these ways:

1. All my bookmarks on my bookmarks bar have been deleted. 2. I can't drag any new links to the bookmarks bar 3. Overflow menu for apps is empty and will only let me drag Firefox defaults to it such as settings. Dragging apps to it is impossible. It "is" possible to pin items by using the Chrome puzzle piece..

Using troubleshooting mode has no effect.

WHERE IS MY BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR??? Every time I update Firefox (now 109), I end up with all kinds of problems! NOW, I can't see my bookmark toolbar. All the help articles tells me how to show it or how to bookmark a page, which I already did multiple times. But this issue is never solved. If I can't get this resolved, I'm going to MS Edge.

Until recently, when I press Ctrl+B, I get a bar at the top of the browser containing a link "Manage bookmarks". I can click the link to bring up the "Manage bookmarks" window.

That's not as convenient as the older behaviour wherein the "Manage bookmarks" window appears immediately when I press Ctrl+B, and it also consumes about half a centimetre of space across the entire width of the browser window (which is a lot with Firefox window maximized). I find also that the need to move the pointer to the link and click it interrupts flow, which is why people use hot keys like Ctrl+B. However, at least the "Manage bookmarks" link worked.

As of approximately a few days ago, clicking the "Manage bookmarks" link does nothing. It does not bring up the "Manage bookmarks" window. Neither does Shift-clicking the link, Ctrl-clicking, or Shift+Ctrl-clicking. I think it must be something about the most recent update. I'm on version 109.0.1 (64-bit) and I'm on Windows 10.

Does anyone else see this? How can I get the "Manage bookmarks" link to work?

Hi, I maintain a master bookmark file on my PC.

At work, I have built/maintain a similar - but wildly different - bookmark file on my work computer.

I would like to import my work bookmarks into a *sub* folder under my primary bookmark file maintained at home. It has been my experience - through trial and error - that this is not possible.

If it is possible, please let me know.

After restating my desktop Mac, all my stored bookmarks (100's) have disappeared. Following the instructions on the Mozilla Help Pages to restore bookmarks, I received the following response: "Unable to process the backup file". So how do I restore my bookmarks? I am also unable to add a new bookmark. What is going on? Also, why is History no longer being logged? Clicking on the History tab, no history is displayed.

My Unsorted Bookmarks folder was mistakenly moved to the Tool Bar Menu and when I tried to move it BACK to the sidebar...everything went SOUTH. Now under 'Other Bookmarks' the Unsorted Bookmarks shows as a sub-folder but does not open. I've read 100 ways to find and/or fix this but nothing works. PLEASE...some help ASAP. ALSO I DO have a backup on my in a desktop folder but it didn't IMPORT.

Hi All my icons changed to a globe image yesterday. I don't know why. However, I discovered that if I opened a bookmark, the correct icon reappeared. With 30 bookmarks to work on, this seemed like a lot of time, BUT your can "Open All Bookmarks in Tabs" and if you wait long enough, all your icons will be restored to those which the websites supply.

I am trying to put a shortcut to a web site on the Desktop. Using the the padlock on Firefox 109.0(64 bit) puts it in a sticky note on Desktop instead of a shortcut on the Desktop.

I am running running on Fedora 37 KDE where this does not work.

Using Fedora 37 Workstation (GNOME), the shortcut is created and works.

How do I get the shortcut to work on Fedora 37 KDE?

Can we move sidebar to bottom? I am interested in using a Find and Replace addon and have it snap to the bottom and appear where the vanilla Ctrl+F find bar appears. I know there is no GUI option to do this as described in (https://mzl.la/3vUbsmq) which only offers left/right but could there be a way to do this with userchrome css? I would have no idea where to begin in coding such a thing.

Every time I try and delete bookmarks my firefox locks up. I have 3,500 bookmarks I need to delete and can't. If I can't delete them I will just delete firefox and use chrome

I loaded firefox 108.0.1 (64-bit) on my new computer with windows 11 Home. I imported my old bookmarks from my old computer and they seem to to work OK. But when I add new a bookmark to one of my old folders that I imported the bookmark does not show up when I use the icon “Show your Bookmarks”. If I go to “Manage Bookmarks” and go to the file the bookmark it is there.
