As title- Cannot download for example webm format, but jpg is okay. cannot install any addon, theme or anything. DRM didnt install as well. i was trying reinstall, refreshing browser, rebooting.

I have had the option "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected for some time, because when FF auto-updates my system becomes unstable. Despite that version 126.0.1 (64-bit) was automatically installed. Which I only found out about because after causing FF to freeze, and basically crashing the work I was doing, and forcing me to kill the task with task manager, I get the "FF is installing your update and will start in a few minutes" at restart.

After looking thru the help forums I have set app.update.background.enabled and app.update.background.scheduling.enabled to false. (They were both true despite the setting selected.)

Two things:

1. I DO want to be notified when updates are available. I just don't want them to happen at your convenience. Will I still be notified of updates with these config parameters set to false?

2. If you have a setting that says "Don't Update" and I select that option, you should not update. There is clearly a problem somewhere.

(Windows reinstall via Microsoft's cloud reset "save my data" option specified... though some stuff got wiped out due to hard drive issues)

I always had one version of Firefox installed. I regularly update the software via Help >> About Still, after every update, I am getting multiple versions of Firefox listed at [Settings/Installed Apps] and [Control Panel/Uninstall or remove apps] on my Win11 23H2 22631.3593 (screenshot attached).

In order to get rid of outdated items from the list, I need to reinstall Firefox completely, but the same thing is happening with every update of Firefox.

Is there a way to resolve this and why is this happening?

I restarted my Windows 11 laptop and got error message about user profile. Restarted again and looks like it was corrupted so deleted my my user profile and Firefox config and bookmarks are gone!

Still have all the files just a new user profile and the old one is gone?

Any help how to get Firefox bookmarks back would be much appreciated

I cannot download any files or any adons through firefox. I have tried every single troubleshooting method in the "What to do if you can't download or save files" article I have restarted my computer, I have refreshed firefox, I have reinstalled firefox TWICE, I have turned off my firewall and tried downloading a file, I have changed the wifi im connected to, I can download files on internet explorer just fine, I have tried a new profile, I have scanned my device for viruses (theres none), I have no idea what the troubleshooting mode is supposed to do because I cannot download files in that either. I currently have no ad-ons installed because of the refresh I dont know what else to do and why is my firefox doing this, it started yesterday.

On the 23. of Mai I first noticed that I am unable to download any files whatsoever. I tried downloading .exe files and also a .csv file. When I try to download one of these files it appears in the downloads window but immediately goes to the status "Failed". Any retry fails as well.

The same thing goes for extensions. I cannot download any extensions or plugins using my Firefox browser. Since I reinstalled Firefox I can now also not use Plex because Firefox can't install the required plugins.

I will attach screenshots of all the errors I get.

All of the above worked when I tried it on the Edge browser.

Firefox version: 126.0 Windows 11

Things I have tried to fix the issue:

• Use the network connection from my phone instead of my home network
• Disable firewall and windows defender
• Reinstall Firefox
• Refresh Firefox
• Downgrade to version 125.0.1 and 122.0
• Reset router to factory settings
• Flush dns
• Restart PC
• Manually delete profile folder
• Delete temp files
• Change download destination
• Disable "Block dangerous and deceptive content"
• Troubleshoot Mode

Is Firefox using some other temporary folder for downloads?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

I have all my passwords stored on Firefox on my macbook pro. When I follow the instructions to sync my passwords on the Firefox app on my phone, it keeps rejecting my primary password, saying it is incorrect. I have deleted the app and re-installed it on my phone, but it still does not work. Why will my account not open on my iphone app? Thank you!

trying to import login information from Firefox to Norton Password Manager. the Norton process works but no logins are displayed to import to NPM. There is a quick error screen when running Norton's import_password.exe - I would call a DOS window ERROR:root:extract_all_logins: Error for ALL: no profiles found

I uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox. I was able to recover my bookmarks, add-ons, and login information. But I do not know how to recover by pdf files. Are they gone for good?

Need some help. I can't download any files using Firefox. It always says, "Failed".

I tried other browsers, and I'm able to download just fine.

I already tried this guide, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files, but still same.

I haven't tried to re-install Firefox because I have a bunch of workbook marks that might get lost. So, I want the re-install option as a last resort.

Did the URL change or smth?

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

I am in the process of migrating to a new Windows 11 PC. I am a long-time user of Firefox and have version 126.0 - 64 bit on my old PC. On my new PC I apparently downloaded it from the Microsoft Store during all my software installs. That version shows as "Windows MSIX Package Mozilla – MSIX – 1.0”

Are there differences between the 2 versions and should I do anything such as reinstalling from Mozilla?

I need to migrate the complete profile (all settings, bookmarks, passwords etc) from a snap install to an apt install on the same system. Currently I have both versions installed, but i want to remove the abomination that is snap..

I tried copying ~/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla/firefox files to ~/.mozilla/firefox but that doesnt seem to work. Since this is a multi-user system i dont want to rely on mozilla accounts to sync everything to the cloud.

What do i need to do in order to migrate all the data from one install to another?

HELLO. I WANT TO GET RID OF NORTON. Must be my own fault ?? But Norton took over the normal usw of mu pc/desktop and now I cant use Googlw or Firefox nomore. Everything else seems to be blocked too. Sorry but I am 88years of ahe and have no idea (nor help available) to makw an end at this trrible thing.
