Most up to date firefox version, on new page i try to customise using the customise pencil icon, i try to change image to jpg files image or firefox own wallpapers and it won't work; themes of top bar are working. Not tried changing with theme (i.e. wallpaper theme), but presume that may work, also i tried undoing the themes and contrast stuff as mentioned online, but still not working and I also tried restarting firefox, but still same issue.

Aloha. I'm helping a friend with setting up a new Windows 11 PC, and cannot get Thunderbird to connect to Spectrum's servers. I spent an hour on the phone with Spectrum support and they just gave up and said it must be an issue with Thunderbird. Here are the details:

- Brand new Dell 24 All-in-One EC24250 - Windows 11 25H2 plus all additional fixes. - All Dell drivers updated. - Thunderbird V155.0 64-bit

If I click on 'Get Messages' after a while I get: "Connection to server mail.twc.com timed out". I've gone into the config editor and changed mailnews.tcptimeout from 100 to 500 and still get the error.

In the Account Settings | Server Settings | Test server connection I get: An error occurred connecting to mail.twc.com:993.

I've tried this with both setting up a brand new account in Thunderbird, and also via copying the 'Thunderbird' folder from %appdata%\roaming from her old machine.

Email configuration (from Spectrum).

IMAP Settings Server name: mail.twc.com Port: 993 user name: abcd@hawaii.rr.com Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password

SMTP settings Server Name: mail.twc.com Port 587 Connection Security: STARTTLS Authentication method: Normal password

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this scenario?

Unfortunately, not all settings are synchronised when I sync my settings through my connected Firefox/Mozilla account.

For example, the following `about:config` preference is not saved:

`browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.widgets.system.enabled = true`

In addition, several settings from the regular Settings menu are not synchronised either, including:

- Start page settings - The custom ordering of search engines under **Search** - The option to NOT save payment methods & addresses - The option to NOT automatically trust installed certificates - secure DNS over HTTPS (DoH) activated with provider & fallback behaviour set

This is frustrating because I have to go through all the settings again after syncing. In some cases, the behaviour also seems inconsistent—for example, the checkbox for automatically trusting installed certificates does not always retain its selected state (sometimes it is unchecked[desired] and on other occasions it is checked).

Could you please investigate whether these settings are intended to be synchronised and, if so, why they are not being saved?

A reliable sync feature should reproduce the desired configuration consistently, including all stable settings—or, at a minimum, clearly document which settings are excluded from synchronisation.

Q.1. As the smtp server setting is "normal password" (screenshot 1), and I am entering my "normal" gmail password, why is it being rejected (screenshot 3)?

Q2. Why am I being asked for a "new password" (screenshot 2)?

We have a intranet site that works in Edge and Chrome without issues with the site added to "internet options". But for some reason we are getting 401 Unauthorized when trying to access it from Firefox. I have tried adding the urls to: network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies: true network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-non-fqdn: true network.auth.force-generic-ntlm: false network.auth.force-generic-ntlm-v1: false

Ingocnito mode , same error. I have tried disabling all plugins. Disabled DNS over HTTPS.

I have several open email tabs but they are showing nothing and when I find the email in my in box it opens blank I've also had problems with thunderbird opening have had to restart computer several times?

When I open Thunderbird it is sending my emails directly to the deleted folder. I have tried all-sorts and cannot find an answer. I transferred Thunderbird to my new PC and all was working okay for a few weeks then all of a sudden there were emails missing from my inboxes and I found them in the deleted folder. I am 76 years old and need an easy step by step solution please ..... John

When Updating from v68 to the next version up, the sub-folders I had on my 2nd email account (POP) all disappeared on the left panel but still exists on windows explorer as I can see all the files.

1. Using v68.12 with 3 Email Accounts (POP). I only download 1 email account from Network Solutions for the past 5 years. 2. Email 1 - name2.domain, Email 2 - used when Soccer Coach, Email 3 - everyday email I get downloaded from Network Solutions. 3. When I tried updating years ago, from v68.12 to the v 78s or so, all the local folders I set up under Email 1 disappeared but the folder structure remain on the hard drive. 4. If I move the files out, then in Thunderbird, right click and create the folder again called Email - BW the folder is created and blank. 5. Then I shutdown Thunderbird and move the files back and then when I go back into Thunderbird I see some of the folders. 6. If I repeat this process, I see some of the folders and I don't see other. 7. I am trying to export the data out of the Email - BW folder, but the Using IMportExport NG in v68 doesn't match up with the version with Thunberbird v153. 8. Do I need to try to load Thunderbird 78 and try to import the files? I have the data file. I have the msf file I have the folder.sbd file It just doesn't show up on the left panel? Help Please.

having issues with accounts in my Thunderbird. when I go to account settings and click through the different accounts None of the details are changiong on the right panel, and I can't edit anything as it won't save.. I also can not delete any of the accounts, it just does nothing. I was just trying to add an acocunt, and somehow have come across issues.

When I returned from a 20-day vacation, I had a message that “Thunderbird had a problem and crashed. We’ll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts….” I do not know when the “crash” happened. However, I have had problems with my 5 AOL email accounts and sometimes the 3 GMAIL accounts since August 20. The AOL accounts are the worst problems. Emails from one account are coming through under a different email account. This is happening with two accounts. Emails for one of the accounts is not coming through at all. I can read messages; but I cannot send any messages through any AOL account. Sending messages through the GMAIL accounts is sporadic in going through. Although my husband and I have separately checked all TB menu items, tools, & settings, we have not found the answer to correct my problems. Any help is appreciated.

I like to know what is the problem at my e-mail setting? Since two weeks ago, when I sent a message, receiver could get my message, but there were no sent record in my Sent Message box.

I use Thunderbird (153.2 0esr) on a win 11 PC.

I have some POP email accounts with btinternet which work.

I want to change. them to IMAP accounts using the same email addresses.

Before I do this I have several minor problems within Thunderbird, which I would like to sort out before copying the Thunderbird files as a backup.

Rather than list them all, it's possible that fixing the first may solve others.

When I open Thunderbird I see this message... see FIRSTCalendar if it hasn't been inserted into the text

I have never (knowingly) used BT's calendar. Clicking cancel removes the report and does not stop any of the BT mail accounts working.

I tried using the username and password of the default account but password of the default account without success. At a later stage this appears...

The address displayed is one that I have deleted from my BT Email account.

It is no longer shown as one of my BT accounts in the email management page in MYBT or in Thunderbird

Again, clicking Cancel does not stop my BT email accounts working.

Any suggestions how to fix this, would be welcome.

I made a change somewhere that caused a total loss of history/open tabs even in my tab manager extension. I can't remember exactly what it was I changed but nothing I have searched here has been helpful in recovering from this. I did not want to bring my profile from home as I am using Firefox here in a work environment. Can someone point me to or explain a step by step method to be able to do this? Nothing I found in searching here has been positive.

I have a recurring email which is spam at it's worse. I identified it as spam/junk, ran the filter as instructed. Will not go away. Is there anyway I can permanently get rid of it? ecare.all.r@emaildl.att-mail.com

Helping a friend with her HP-i3 PC running Windows 11 that I setup in March of 2025. It was a new PC purchased from BestBuy in March 2025.

I had to restore the image backup of her C drive that I did in March 2025 because of a Windows problem that I wasn't able to resolve. Now that problem is resolved but Tbird has the old profile folder without her new email contacts. (Unfortunately, I did not remember to use Tbird to save a backup of her profile folder before doing the restore.)

She has a recent image backup so I can extract Tbird's profile folder from that backup. What would be the correct procedure to replace the current profile folder with the one extracted from the recent backup?

(don't currently have access to her PC so don't know the version number of Tbird currently installed)

I have Win11, Thunderbird Windows MSIX packagethunderbird-MSIX - 1.0, and several accounts (The box below won't take anything past "Thunderbird Window.")

I'm looking for some way to make a different ring either for one of the accounts or for certain domains or for a subfolder -- any way that I'll know when something comes in from specific domains. The special ring(s) can be for each of the two domains or both of them. Can that be done?
