When I start Thunderbird, the same message is downloaded each time.

The status bar then reads "Downloading message 2 of 17," except that 17 is now up to 27.

Thunderbird remains in this state. No second message is ever downloaded.

When I close down and restart Thunderbird, it's Groundhog Day all over again.

Trying "Clear Recent History" has no effect on the issue.

I am on Thunderbird 150.0.2 (64-bit) on the release update channel. I'm on a Windows 11 HP Envy Laptop purchased in July 2025.

I have recently installed Thunderbird to help me with my overfull Yahoo account. I installed it using the default Yahoo authentication which seems to work fine. Since Yahoo exposes at most 100,000 messages in any one mail folder, and my inbox had over 250,000, my goal is to spread those out amongst a few different folders so that I can manage the inbox more effectively offline. To that end, I set up a couple of saved search folders, each of which selects e-mails within a two-year date range. Incidentally, each only selects about 1,000 messages at a time, not the 40,000 or so each of those time periods seem to contain. When I use my Ctrl-A shortcut to select the messages in one of the 'search' folders, then move those messages to my Yahoo mail folder under my e-mail account, the messages initially are wiped from the saved search folder, but after a few minutes they all return!

Incidentally, the saved search folder has the same name as the folder I'm trying to copy the messages to, but the search folder is under the Inbox, and the other folder is 'beside' (not under) the Inbox.

Let me know if there is a more efficient and effective way of doing what I want. Ultimately, I want well under 100,000 messages in my Inbox.

When I REPLY to Emails , THIS IS the error message that I get : Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.juno.com timed out. Try again.

Mail filters for custom headers like List-Unsubscribe, Authentication-Results or Received-SPF copying messages from IMAP accounts to Local Folders do not work on the Yahoo! IMAP account. For example:

Filters1 and 2 work well on other IMAP accouns, like for example wp.pl. So this is about Yahoo or something is corrupted. My question is, what wrong is here ? And by the way - how to create filter copying all messages from IMAP to Local Folders ? Is better way then filter3 looking for random string in the subject or somewhere else ? Thank you.

I use the filters in Thunderbird a lot, so I am familiar with the setup. I need to automatically forward a message to my wife if it comes in from a specific email address. I cannot see a way to do this. Is it possible?

The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

On one of my accounts I have an enabled filter for incoming messages consisting of a Tag + Copy + Delete (see screenshot) When a new message arrives, the filter is executed TWICE (see screenshot of the log) , the copied message arrives TWICE at the destination (once tagged, once NOT tagged). In the deleted folder of the source there is only one message.

What might be gong on ? Why is the filter executed twice ?

PS : I also tried Tag + Move instead of Tag + Copy + Delete

Okay, so how to be simple. I kept getting a pop-up from Comcast about a latest promotion and it wouldn't go away. I spoke to Comcast about their ridiculous pop-up promotion, it was coming through my Thunderbird email client. That may be taken care of. But in the meantime I tried to delete my main Thunderbird account, I must have done so and now I can't get it back! I've tried everything! I was using an IMAP account, and for my incoming I had imap.comcast.net. For my outgoing I had stmp.comcast.net and the ports were 993 and 587 I believe. Please don't quote me on this. So when I try to create a new email account using the same information I keep getting an "Authorization Error" each and every time!

So....since and while writing this email, the Comcast pop-up continues to pop up, and I still cannot reset my email account. Talk about a frustration level at this point! I would like to keep my Thunderbird email account minus the stupid Comcast pop-up. I just don't know what to do. Please help from anyone who can!

Thunderbird Only Provides My E-Mails of the past two or three Weeks on my mobile phone and on my Laptop. Die Older Mails kann online be accesssed on the Vodafone Webpage. How can I synchronise My Account?

Hi. Since the last 2 updates, my Bell sympatico email through T-bird cannot SEND anymore emails (No errors are given but the email never comes through). I can receive emails without issue and when I use another tool (like Outlook or go directly through my browser, the sympatico emails come through) I attached the settings for the SMTP in a screenshot if that could help.

Any idea how to fix this?

Everything working just fine last night. Wake up and Thunderbird will not retrieve emails.

Remembered this old message I got so I went through and deleted my second email address, didn't help.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Anyone have any ideas?

One of my email accounts will not connect. It was working but has not connected for two days. The message says log in failed for X@yahoo.com.
