Does the recent update Firefox 137.0 retain the separate address bar and search bar? One of the things I hate about MS Edge is that there is no separate search bar. Have not been pleased about the small size of the Firefox search bar the last few years. The user should be able to size it at will.

I think it started to happen with Version 128.9.0esr | Released April 1, 2025. It is very simple to reproduce: 1. Start TB. 2. TB downloads new messages and continues to do it every 1 minute according to the setting. 3. In 10 to 20 minutes, it hangs. I have to force it to close and then restart it to check my email.

I believe it started to happen yesterday.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

As of today, I can neither send nor receive email for my imap accounts - imap.gmail.com and imap.mail.yahoo.com. I have Thunderbird 128.9.1esr(64 bit). They both work outside of Thunderbird. Notification reads: Authentication failure while connecting to server ... where ... is each url above.

I know how to place the preview pane on right with the vertical layout, but I would like to switch the place of the preview pane with one of the message tray pane. In other words, I want set the panes in a orders like the folder pane, the preview pane, and the message tray pane from left to right. I do not know how to do it so I would happy if anyone teach me how.

I currently have 3 Comcast mail accounts I access from my home PC using Outlook 2016 configured for POP3. For each of the 3 Outlook accounts I designate a common PST file on my home PC. Thus when launching Outlook messages from all 3 accounts are downloaded from Comcast and stored in this one PST file. Can I configure Thunderbird to do the same?

I have TB Mobile for Android Version 8.2 on my Samsung A54 running Android 14. I have done numerous searches, but can not find any way to move an email that I accidentally sent to Trash or Spam back to Inbox (or any other folder for that matter). Am I missing something or is this feature simply not available?

I can do the above with my Yahoo mail on my A54 which has a menu that lets me move any email from folder to folder.

As email threads become lengthy they become unreadable. The older emails turn into displaying one character per line. Is this a bug or something fixable on my end?

After using Thunderbird and the Calendar - synced to my Google Calendar - for many years I find myself with a new installation of Tbird on a new PC running Windows 11. I've got the calenders all setup and synced and everything, but when I try to set notifications the only choice available is "Show an alert". It also used to offer "Send an email". I want the ability to send those email notifications, not just phone alerts. I've looked through the settings and don't see anything obvious. So how do I get it to send notifications via email? I made the mistake of letting Firefox on KUbuntu update. It obliterated all my tabs and all my history. There's nothing left. I had a lot of tabs open with intent to use them to update some astronomy instructional activities. I don't know if I'll be able to find them again.

I don't really have a question except to ask: What fresh hell is this? Is it really that hard to just leave things the hell alone? I'm afraid to ever update Firefox again. If everything else wasn't based on Chromium, I'd be out of here.

Also, it looks like something out of Windows 7.

I am an experienced TB user, but at the moment at a total loss for a solution to my problem.

I use Windows 11 Pro. When trying to click on image attachments for PNG and JPG/JPEG pictures, the behaviour is different: PNG images are displayed just fine in the Windows photo viewer, JPEG images are not. If I open the same images via double-click from the local disk, both open just fine in the same viewer. I have checked the file type settings already and even changed them to always ask me for JPEG images. I get asked just fine and see that TB wants to open the Windows photo viewer for both files types, but while it works for PNG, it does not for JPEG. There is no error message, just nothing happens, at least nothing visible to me.

When trying the same from a new user profile, it works as expected. I tried TB safe mode, deactivating all add-ons, but it still does not work in my main user profile.

I would be glad to receive hints for how to solve or at least debug this. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Syncing one email account on Thunderbird on two computers. Some of my folders sync and others do not show or sync. Some that show and not sync are in italics. How to fix?

I don't fully remember when this happened, but lately the browser has trouble clearing my search history even though I had it set so that it does so every time I close it. I only managed to fix it by making it so that it doesn't remember the search history, but some of the old searches are still there whenever I punch in part of what I was searching.

I suddenly can't see message body when opening Thunderbird. I only see a list of every email received but cannot read it in the opening window. I need to double click.

I had enail from The New York Times <nytdirect@nytimes.com> in my addess/inbpx. After some thunderbird update it is reguar ly appears in address/Junk folder and I ca not permanently return it to inbox. The New York Times <nytdirect@nytimes.com>i did enter it in personal address book because it promised not to send in Junk items mensioned in apersonal address book - effect, next day again in Junk. I right click on address in message text when in Junk folder and asked to deliver the messages in inbox before analizing for junk - again null effect.On clicking "Not Junk a particular message it sometimes opens in inbox but onl for this time, and next messages with The New York Times <nytdirect@nytimes.com> again surface in Junk folder. My subscription tp NT is active andthey regularly are sending me newsletters and alerts. I can not find what Thunderbird think mark the junk message. So I ask to tell me hhow to return this The New York Times <nytdirect@nytimes.com> to mu inbox and take it off the Junk folder.

It went away for a while but now it is back. When I select the text it usually (but not always) resolves. However it is a pain to keep stopping to do that.

I've tried the existing fixes but they either don't work or stop working after applied.

Running Firefox 133.0.3 on Windows 10 22H2

The last week or so, when I try to download my photos from iCloud, Firefox blocks the download, saying it contains a virus or malware. Of course it does not - it's a zip file of screenshots! Running a scan on the folder once unzipped confirms there is nothing malicious in it. Can you fix that please?

I can't send e-mails from one of my adddresses in Thunderbird. I haven't changed the password on this account. When I try to send an e-mail it won't send and I get the following two messages. Entering the password again makes no difference. What can I do to resolve this? Thanks.

Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.aol.com. Please check the passsword and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outging server (SMTP)'.

Login to server smtp.aol.com with username xxxxxxxxxxx@aol.com failed.

It's OK, this is now resolved. I just needed an app password from AOL/Yahoo. Thanks.

It gives a Connection error and Swansons seems to think it is my browser problem. I haven't had problem with this site before and I don't have problems any place else. I turned off Malwarebytes Browser Guard, temporarily, and that didn't hgelp. I already cleared the history and that didn't help.
