1. When we press Home button in the app toolbar, It opens a new tab and sends the active tab in background instead of closing the tab. The correct working of Home button is to show Homepage in current tab. For opening new tab, we can use "New Tab" option. Because of this all tabs keep getting stored in background and it's quote irritating.

2. Same for back swipe gesture, the tab gets stored in background instead of closing. For example, I clicked on an Article in Google Feed, it redirects to Firefox, now after reading the article, I swiped back to go back to Google Feed. Now swiping back gesture doesn't close the active tab, instead it stored the tab in background. Because of this too much tabs gets stored in background and need manual effort to remove the tabs.

So, Fix these two features.

In general, I like Thunderbird, have used it for years. But if there's one thing that will make me abandon it it's that incoming links are not hyperlinks, they're just text. From what I've read, that's deliberate. If not, how do I make incoming links be links? I'm really ready to move on.

Now that firefox Android supports addons, please someone make addons for History export..

Is there any other better way to export history.. I have tried sync.. but there seems to be some limitations in sync, it didn't sync all the history..

I am trying to find out how to set the default columns list for my Thunderbird Supernova (115.9.0) installation on Windows 7 Home 64-bit with SP1 - I've followed the instructions in [article] this article, but I'm encountering the following issue:

If I have a folder called (say) "Jo Bloggs" that already has the columns list set that I require and I add a new subfolder (say) "2023", this new subfolder has the application default columns list showing and not the columns list from the parent folder.

Is there any way that I can configure the columns list used by Thunderbird so that all new folders use the same columns list as their parent folder?

Whenever I use the picture in picture feature, it always opens up in a bigger tab instead of the floating PiP. I am unable to adjust the sizing whatsoever. Is there a way to get around that?

When I view emails with photos attached inline (both in preview pane and fully opened) i can't see the images as they are massive and go way off the screen. Is there a setting to provide some kind of sensible default so the images are sized within the email i am looking at, so i can view them without downloading and opening in a photo viewer? thanks

how do I change the "from" and "subject" font appearance in thunderbird inbox list view? They are currently a little bizzare with the sender appearing smaller than the subject line etc. I am not familliar with .css file settings and so will need to be considered a simpleton with any explanations. Any aswers I have seen refer to fire fox and assume that I know how to create the changes required or add a .css file somewhere. Thanks in advance. I attach a screen shot of my current inbox view . I would like to customize my New Tab page to show only the icons (shortcuts) I specify; I think it would help if I could change the size of the icons so fewer show, but I cannot find any setting to change the way the page looks. This is a new problem since I got a new computer with Windows 11. In Windows 10 and earlier Firefox versions, I could have only a handful of shortcuts that I wanted and it did not automatically add recently visited sites (I have not selected that option in the settings). I do not want to dismiss or delete shortcuts individually, but want a permanent solution.

I am really getting tired of TBird resetting my all my default preferences whenever there is an update. One more time and, contributor or not, I'll abandon the app. I've lost critical emails in the past. This time it's reverted my Threads setting and there seems to be no way to get rid of these damned thread filings. I don't want threads. They make no sense for me and my correspondences get lost as they are buried deeper and deeper into the ooze of Thread world. Can somebody tell me how to turn these things off? And can somebody please, please, please tell Mozilla to stop screwing with my settings when they update!? And don't tell me they don't because we all know that they do.

Trying to recover from a hard drive crash. Had to buy a new desktop with Windows 11 Pro (looking to be a bad move). I downloaded/updated to Firefox 126.0 (maybe also looking to be a bad move).

Have my last "working" userChrome file (it took me weeks to perfect this to my needs).

I am looking for: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

but there is no "AppData" folder. And there is no existing userChrome.css file, anywhere!

Is the functionality I am looking for a thing of the past?

Is Firefox not completely supported by Windows 11?

If so, what is the last version of Firefox that will still support userChrome.css?

Hi - I'm running Thunderbird version 115 and I'd like to export the filters from one of my iMacs and import them into Thunderbird 115 on another iMac. I don't see any mechanism to do that.

I dug around and installed the 'ImportExportTools NG' add-on but that will only import/export the entire profile (as I read it).

I'm reasonably handy with Unix if it comes to that ...

How can I get Thunderbird to instantly download all new mails from the server - instead of waiting for the standard mechanism of Thunderbird to download new mails?

115 continues to try my patience, but inflicting threading upon me goes beyond annoyance and into the reign of seriously disrupting my ability to use Thunderbird.

I've read some stuff here that I don't really understand. Is there any way to TOTALLY turn off threading for any and all incoming or stored emails? I found View ==> Sort By ==> Threads seems to have an option for "All" but that can't be unchecked.

If anyone can provide any help, I'll be quite grateful!

When I restarted my PC and opened Firefox only 1 tab Open previous windows and tabs. All the other 6 disappeared. I opened 3 additional tabs, closed Firefox, and reopened Firefox and only the one same tab was there from the previous session. Why does the feature not work properly?

My email recently migrated from Cox to Yahoo. I'm not happy about it. I can't wait until Thunderbird has an app! Anyway, I had to change my imap settings but now Thunderbird isn't taking my emails off the server. How do I do that? Thanks in advance, Allison

I have Tbird 115.10.2 on a Mac with OS 12.7.3

I have two emails with Proton, one personal, one for work. I've created some mailboxes for the personal address and the same mailboxes appear in the work email, but without any emails in them. I tried renaming the work mailboxes, but then they disappeared. How can I create (and keep) mailboxes for the two different addresses?

Firefox 126 has changed the tabbar tab background handling and I cannot find a way to get my graphical tab background back for the selected tab. The left image shows FF 125.3; the left 126.0, which installed itself yesterday. In the userchrome for the old Firefox I have:

This gave me the differentiated selected and unselected tabs but does not work for the selected tab in the new Firefox. Any ideas how I have to specify this now?

I have a Zen Internet account set as my default account, but, when I go to write an email, the From address is based on my own domain barkas.co.uk, with the Zen address after it (see screenshot,) and I have to manually change it to my Zen email address from the dropdown address menu. Why is this and how do I stop it?

I have a program that continuously monitors the download folder under Windows 11 for a specific file and retrieves it. I download this file in Firefox, but the said program gives an error.

I have noticed that when files are downloaded in FireFox, they already appear in the Downloads folder with the corresponding file extension with 0 bytes and these are then apparently swapped or merged with the .parts file.

The problem is that the mentioned program now tries to retrieve the unfinished file, which then leads to an error.

Does anyone know if it is possible to customize Firefox so that the file only appears in the download folder when the download is fully complete?
