After Thunderbird September update, all messages from one of my accounts go directly to Delete folder. (bug2068847)
This problem happened after the September update. No changes to any message filters. I am not the only one having this problem. What changed in the update that could have caused this problem? I have had to delete the problem account from Thunderbird because every time I move the messages back to the Inbox in Outlook, Thunderbird would move them back to Delete.

There was a change in the way filters work in ver. 155, where a blank condition now matches everything where it used to match nothing. You probably had created some filters with empty conditions.
This will be reverted to the previous behavior in the next update, due very soon. For now, you can disable any filters with blank conditions, or fill in the blanks with relevant text, or live with it until the update.

Please download and install https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/candidates/155.0.1-candidates/build1/win64/en-US/Thunderbird%20Setup%20155.0.1.exe if you are running 155.0 on Windows - it has a fix which has been tested. We would value your immediate feedback that it resolves your problem without introducing new problems.
I can verify that removing any lines with blank conditions will correct the problem.
As stated by Lin, a blank condition now matches all messages. Just delete that condition.
Remember that you can have many conditions in a filter, the blank one is almost certainly the last one. Enlarge the edit window or scroll.

Please update to 155.0.1 which has a fix, because we are interested to know if that fix helps...
If you add the blank condition back to a filter, does it now behave nicely (i.e. not badly) ?
