Exporting anything from thunderbird that is written in greek ends up unreadable

I have an issue when i try exporting contacts from thunderbird as well as when trying to export mailboxes. I have most of the folder names and contacts in greek and whenever i try to export them they look jumbled and unreadable. The english ones look fine as do the special characters, but the greek typing in the folder structures and the contacts is just a garbled mess.
Is there anything that can be done to mitigate or resolve this other than manually renaming everything?

If the intent is to copy to another thunderbird profile, I suggest copying, not exporting.

I dont like the idea of manually copying everything, its very time consuming and the number of emails doesnt lend itself to copying well (its more than 20GB of emails)
Is there a way to make the copying process fast that i dont know of?

My suggestion is to copy the entire profile, assuming that your intent is to use the addressbook and accounts on another PC. That can be done rather easily. If you explain your intent, it will be easier to give suggestions.
