Good day all,

When I try to send email using Outlook web from the Firefox browser, I often get a failed to send error message. When I deactivate AVG I'm once again able to send a message. This doesn't happen when I use other browsers like Chrome or Internet explorer. There seems to be a compatibility issue with Firefox. Anyway around this? Thanks.

Hi Mistahman, I think AVG (like Avast) has two different interceptors: Web Shield and Mail Shield (those might be the Avast names). Each has its own different settings. Can you tweak those features so you can still have the maximum of filtering (if you like using it) but still allowing mail to flow?

P.S. Please report back on what works best for you so other AVG users will be able to use that info if they run into this problem. Thanks.

Good day,

Removing the webshield solved the problem but not why this only happens with Firefox and not other browsers like Internet Explorer or Google Chrome...

Good question. Other browsers check certificates against the Windows certificate store, while Firefox checks against its own. AVG must have set up Firefox to trust its fake certificates well enough for most purposes, but maybe there is a difference with email. ??
