So im running on win 10, and my default browser is firefox.

about a day or two ago i realized a virus scan wth malware bytes antimalware, thats the last thing i remember doing before this problem appeared. Before that, youtube loaded just fine on any browser, but after that, all I get is a list-kind of text version of youtube. On all browsers.

Ive tried fixing it on my own, Ive reinstalled the browser various times, Ive cleared all the cache and the historial, Ive reinstalled malware bytes, tried even loading youtube while having it uninstalled and I still get the same.

Ive also download java, adobe flash players, etc, and none of them seem to fix my problem.Could it be a system problem? Whatever it is, its getting really annoying and Im in desperate needs of help, I really, really dont want to reinstall OS. Please do answer, thanks.

Load the web page. Then, Holding down the <Shift> key, reload the page. This will force the browser to bypass the cache.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.

  • Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

Thanks for the detailed answer, I had a try at it but it didnt work either. I really dont know whats causing this problem, I reinstalled firefox cleanly and made a new profile, all that in windows safe mode (with internet access) and it still appears the same text-list kind of way.

What security software do you have?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect in case security software is interfering.

That is an unformatted web page. Use the Remove History link I posted above.
