By now everyone knows 500,000,000 yahoo accounts were 'stolen' (passwords, etc) Yahoo has been 'nagging' people to change passwords so, like an idiot, I did on all accounts (instead of checking they were working properly first) I updated to Firefox 49.01 for Yahoo. Now I'm locked out of every account as passwords are not recognised? Yahoo help is less than worthless as it's online only and very poorly structured. There is no way to contact a 'real person' unless you already had a business acount. (maybe if you open one but who wants to spend a bunch of cash to recover a password to check e-mail?) Anyway, Yahoo customer (don't) care is worthless so 'we' (myself and probably several million others) are looking for anything that could help us. Maybe programmers could volunteer to help Yahoo out as they seem totally unable or unwilling to help

Most login pages have a Forgot Password link.

I'm sure it's no consolation, but I changed my password on Friday and today, after first struggling to remember it, I was able to log into Yahoo.

Are you entering your password by hand or using a password manager?

If you were having Firefox log into Yahoo or other sites automatically, the stored login will need to be updated. You can remove the old saved passwords, and save them again the next time you log in.

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Security. Then on the right side, find the "Saved Logins" button. Remove the saved logins for the sites where you changed the password.

I used password manager and manual entry in Mint 17 and Mint 18. Haven't tried Ubuntu 16.04 LTS yet , can't remember if I had password saved. Win 10 tried both, no luck.I had 3 accounts, one couldn't be found by Yahoo for about 2 yrs but has now re-appeared which is pretty strange? Recovery won't accept phone number and like a fool I removed the 'security questions when they told me. I've even set up a gmail account so I can at least get new e-mails in response to criticism of yahoo customer service. it even looks like 'they' are ignoring comments on facebook. I'm at a loss, managed to send a couple of e-mails on the unrelated portions of Yahoo help (spam/abuse and hacked accounts) and got automated replies so at least I know they were recieved

Perhaps they are completely overloaded. I don't really have any suggestions other than to monitor their usual outlets for news.

That is my thought, half a billion accounts stolen are going to take some time to get around to everyone even if only 0.01% have issues (and from reading Yahoo forum it's a lot higher percentage)
