Having Firefox problems so tried to login under Safari. Was told I needed to Enable Cookies. Can't login when denying cookies "from third parties and advertisers."

That is unacceptable behavior, especially from a non-profit website.

Specifically, exactly where are you trying to log in? The URL please.

I opened this page

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1133660#answer-909802

and tried to Post A Reply, but was not logged in under Safar so was directed to a login page.

Each browser has its own cookies, including logins. Being logged in with one browser is not logged in with other browsers.

That's got nothing to do with it. Mozilla won't log me in unless I allow ALL cookies. It should only require me to accept Mozilla's cookies, not ANY third party and especially not advertising.

Are third party cookies really required for this site? I haven't tested but I don't see why, since this site has its own username/password system. Maybe Safari has a different interpretation of third party cookies than I do.

Some method is needed to keep track of you having logged in. This site uses cookies for that: every link you click is accompanied by a header listing the cookies this site has previously set. Missing cookies means you could be any Tom, Dick, or Harry and it's back to the login page.

The site could be changed to work without cookies by adding a unique identifer to the URL of every request, or converting to using form submission with hidden fields, But this site isn't going to get those kind of deep upgrades so for the time being, you definitely need to allow first party cookies for the relevant period of time (e.g., for your current Firefox session).
