Why does Firefox not verify install of Java 8 ver 101?
I am using an iMac with OSx 10.11.6 I have installed and verified Java 8 ver 101 using Safari. However, when I try verifying the Java install on Firefox 47.0.1 it doesn't appear to work. Why is this, and what do I need to do to resolve this issue?

¡Hola!
Do you see Java listed in about:plugins page?
Try downloading the JRE 8u102 from https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html and installing it again as detailed at https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/technotes/guides/install/mac_jre.html
Please let us know if this solves your question.
¡Gracias!
Hello, Thanks for your advice my friend. I have carried out your exact recommendations (several times) now. But whenever I return to the "Verify" page - nothing seems to be happening. It may that Java is running, but if the verification doesn't work I cannot have any confidence. Is there any other test that I can do which will help me with this? Kind regards Henryk
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open the Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Plugins. Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.
Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left click the icon. Select Permissions. In the menu, Make sure the ones you want to use are set to Ask or Allow.
