With windows 8.1 and Firefox 31, I cant get some of the buttons on a particular website to work. Works in IE and XP.
I have a new Dell XPS 8700 pc running windows 8.1. I have Firefox 31 installed and Internet Explorer. When I visit a Chevrolet website to build and price a vehicle (link below), I can't select any trim level other than the default level when using Firefox. Everything works fine in Internet Explorer. A friend has a different brand pc running 8.1 and Firefox, but, the site works fine for him.
In other words, all the buttons on the website don't work when using Firefox for me.
I've just replaced the hard drive due to another problem (had nothing to do with this), but, I had this issue with the old HD as well.
Here is the link to the website: http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-stingray/build-your-own.html?x-zipcode=93301
Any ideas? I'm running McAfee but my friend is running Norton. Don't know if there is a conflict there or not. Thanks for your help.

Those radio buttons seem to be working here.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
THX for the tips Cor-el. I already did the clearing cache, history, cookies, etc. - didn't work. Also tried disabling McAfee - that didn't work either. I'll play around with Safe Mode tomorrow when I have more time.
Thx again for trying to help!
OK - sorry for the late response. I finally did some more playing around and the problem still persists. I tried Firefox Safe Mode - that didn't resolve it. I tried resetting - that didn't resolve it. I looked to see if my plugins needed updated - the ones that Firefox recognized did not need updating. It showed others that appear to be unrelated (see pic below). At this point, i don't know what else to try. I've previously uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and that didn't solve it either.
You tested in Safe Mode? I ask because the site uses scripts from 3 different Google servers (google.com, googleapis.com, gstatic.com). If you use "Disconnect" or other privacy-oriented or anti-tracking extensions, those could be a factor.
Do you have any restrictions on "third party" cookies?
yes jscher, I tested in Safe mode. FF was also set up to not tell sites anything about my tracking preferences. It also is setup to allow cookies.
What is curious is that SOME of the functions on the problematic webpage work, and others don't. And as I said before, there is no problem at all with the site when I use I.E. And, there is no problem at other car sites when I use Firefox.
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
thx - this is turning into more trouble than it's worth. getting to Safe Mode in Windows 8.1 is a pain in the ass. I'll just use I.E. to build a Corvette I guess. Thx for your help.
