I exported a address book from Mailbird as vCard to my desktop. When I import it to Thunderbird it appears with most of the entries blank. The profiles that do appear all have missing data, such as phone numbers and email addresses. This happens with 3 different address books from Mailbird. Malibird only allows export to vCard. It also happens with a older CSV, Excel file I have tried. I am using Thunderbird 139.0.2 (64-bit).

Hello, Thanks for your attention to my concern. Today I received this Yahoo "email": "Gutter System US AD Here's what a gutter system should cost ........ ". It can't be deleted. Is this annoyance going to be a Yahoo AD every time I open Yahoo? Is Thunderbird "cleaner"; as an option eliminate these useless Ads? Thanks , ART

Avoid Scams, How do I know if it is a SCAM??? Got a new phone and change my Gmail account PW. Now Thunderbird will not work. Tried everything Very long time user of TB. Never had PW or Account???. Someone please help! Got a call from Maryland and said $100 to fix it maybe? CHECK images. Get this about 400 times. Just poor programming I Guess? Pops up at random, everywhere. When I highlight/select an email message and then switch the sort option from Date to From, the same email is no longer highlighted and selected. The highlighting changes to a softer color and I have to select the email message again. The message selected should still be selected when switching the sort option.

I can get to the "stored passwords" box, but the email I need to change the password for isn't listed there. I have tried to send and receive messages but nothing makes a "enter your password" box pop up. All I get when it tries to retrieve messages from Gmail is a box to give my email, (just that, not a password) and then an error message that it won't work and there is no more information. I'm using Linux. I've had both this particular email address (as well as others) and Thunderbird for years, perhaps two decades, and I can't figure out what to do now. I was going to change all my email passwords for security reasons, but there's no way I can do that until I can get Thunderbird working with POP access again. Thank you.

bold textUse 4 different email addresses on TB. 2 of them are fine. But the 3rd and 4th email addresses are duplicated for my spouse. Whenever an email is read, it disappears(is permanently deleted) as soon as you leave that account. But the message is still on the server if we log in via Webmail. There must be some setting in TB that I haven't located. But if we delete the message, it gets moved to the Trash folder as would be expected. Had created the 4th account in an attempt to remedy this but no luck!

TB 139.0.2 fails POP download, no password ask

After installing upgrade to 139.0.2, POP downloads failed. Last was on 6/19/2025 at 8:19PM. I deleted both saved passwords.. Went to AOL and generated a new APP password … (read more)

After installing upgrade to 139.0.2, POP downloads failed. Last was on 6/19/2025 at 8:19PM. I deleted both saved passwords.. Went to AOL and generated a new APP password but there was no way to upgrade to it. I sent a test message to myself [ smtp] and AOL logged me in and TB generated the saved password oauth://login.aol.com (mail-w).

However even with shutdown TB and restart, there was no request for a POP password [ such as the new AOL APP generated one. What should I do? Is this a bug? I can read and use AOL mail on my browser [EDGE]. LKint@verizon.net

I use Thunderbird 128.10.2 esr (64-bit) on a Mac Book Pro. For some reason, I can no longer change the font color of my outgoing messages. Even my saved templates now all have black text rather than the black and red text that I set them up with.

I didn't change any settings or preferences - this must have happened when the software was automatically updated.

How do I change the color of the text? I only want to change the color of specified parts of my email - not every word.

After loading the new update for TB on laptop, it successfully uploaded one of my 6 email accounts, my primary one protouch@comcast.net, and it works fine, can send and receive emails no problem. BUT when I went to load my other comcast.net accounts I keep getting an error message from the server. Have tried over and over and don't know what to do. But the email accounts (all of them) load and work well on the BLUEMAIL account on my phone and also on my laptop, but TB doesn't. Any ideas? HERE'S THE MESSAGE I KEEP GETTING - and I've checked all the settings and they are correct, plus I've tried it with VPN ON and OFF, same results. Bill

Dear users,

I installed thunderbird on my pc only to open .mbox files containing archives from past years.

I read in the guide I need to add a plugin called ImportExport NG to open mbox files, but first I have to see the "local folders", which doesn't exist.

I attached the screenshot of thunderbird just installed on my pc and launched. I miss the "local folders".

How can I fix?

I have just started using Thunderbird and I'm trying to change the default colour for a hyperlink.

I have tried about:config -> browser.anchor_color and browser.active_color but neither has worked.

I also tried using a user.js file but that didn't work either.

I would have thought this would be a fairly basic thing but it seems to be impossible.

Please forgive a very basic question. I think I know the answer but would appreciate having the correct one from the pros.

My wife and I each have Thunderbird installed on our computers. While we each have individual email addresses, we also have one email address we share, and we access it via Thunderbird.

If I'm marking certain messages as junk on my computer, will that designation only apply to my computer or, because of the common email address, will it mark those same messages as junk on my wife's computer?

Thanks for any help with this.

For a couple of months now I have not been able to keep the email client logged into my email account. Every so often I have needed to re-enter my email password in download my emails. However, this does not happen with my email on my Apple iphone, it functions normally. Last year, I added a laptop email using Thunderbird and it also is now having this issue starting about the same time as my desktop. I did not have any issues with my email until several weeks ago and it happens on both computers. I asked here what to check, and followed the instructions given here, still no change. In fact, on my desktop, it no longer will download any emails, no matter how many times I enter my password.

I use the desktop for my regular email use, with the laptop used for when I travel. The iPhone is mostly as notification of emails so I can answer on my desktop.

Let me repeat, everything has worked well and without issues until a few weeks ago. I made no changes in my settings prior to that, no changes to my internet provider, no other changes than normal software updates to Thunderbird.

I have a Google hosted domain email address. I've been using Thunderbird for a long time and I'm familiar with the problems of Gmail and Thunderbird not playing 100% nicely.

With that said, I have an 80+GB "Sent Mail" folder and I need to bring that back down to what the actual size is.

Any insight on the most efficient way of doing this?
