This morning, my Thunderbird email stopped working although it was working fine a few hours earlier. The following is the error message: "Sending of password for user lepitzki@telusplanet.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Username and password not accepted." After trying to find a solution at telus.com, my internet provider, I finally spoke to a real person (after nearly an hour on hold) who informed me that the recent google gmail update now prohibits third party email services, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, from connecting to Telus gmail email. And, that there is no work around or solution and that a supervisor could not offer anything further. I have been using Thunderbird for telus email for decades, I weathered the storm when Telus email moved to using the gmail platform, and I have many, many folders and subfolders. The Thunderbird third party platform allows permanent offline archiving of emails, which I require for my work. Is Thunderbird aware of this major issue caused by an update via Google? All of a sudden, without installing a new release, no change to settings, send does not work any more. Windows 12 TB 128.3 I push send, screens gets less contrasted and nothing happens. I bypass the problem by leaving the message, saving it to drafts and with my smartphone I srnd the draft! Something else happens since some time, do not know if it is related: when I open TB and go to inbox, it shows an inbox that's not up to date. After a minute it refreshes to the present inbox. Pls help, TY

I need Thunderbird to keep upper-case letters at the beginning of sentences when I do this. I also need my name to keep the first letter upper-case. Show me how to do this, please.

How to created new mailing list. The online instructions, last updated 2015, say : "Create a mailing list

   Open the Address Book.
   Select File > New > Mailing List.
   Enter a suitable name for the mailing list. 

but "mailing list" does not appear when i select file> new

My house was hit by a lightning strike and it blew out my computer. It looks like both the drives in that computer are readable. So I am wondering how I can get all my email back into thunderbird. It was a pop account. All email was saved to computer. I'm using windows 10. I tried to just copy the old file at Users/Mike/AppData/Roaming but that didn't work. It didn't bring back all of the folders. Please let me know if there's anyway to rebuild all the folders and emails. Thanks in advance for your help. Mike

My COX email was transferred to Yahoo a few months ago. I followed the procedure outlined by COX and changed over to Thunderbird as I had used before. Everything worked great until the morning of August 18. I cannot receive or send email. I have tried contacting Yahoo who will not help me unless I subscribe to their Premium Technology package. I would really like to talk with someone from Thunderbird but have not found any help. HELP I cannot receive or send email

I saw a post about creating a calendar event directly from email ([https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1091761]) and it mentioned using

Right Click-Convert To-Event or Task

However, I do not see that option. The post is archived so I cannot followup with the original posting.

When I Reply the cursor used to default to the text so I could just start typing my message.

Now it defaults to the address field. How can I go into the hidden settings to change it?

Tried installing v115 latest on Ubuntu. Hangs when I try to set up email acc and it tries to log into the Gmail server. "Danger ahead" displayed on page with no option to force it to proceed.

Thus please dispense with any solutions for this and just inform how I can install v91.1.2 using apt-get

I see you list the versions but I see no where on how to specify which version to install.

Cox just transferred all customers' email systems to Yahoo. After my e-mails were transferred to Yahoo, Yahoo tried to help me when I was getting error messages saying that log in to server smtp.mail.yahoo.com with my user name (my e-mail address) failed. The Yahoo rep told me that my problem is that "Whenever the generated app password from Yahoo is entered, sending emails works, but it only stays like that until the computer gets restarted. The app password is not saved." The rep told me that many Thunderbird users who had their email systems transferred to Yahoo are having the same problem. Has anyone had this problem and been able to resolve this problem? Thank you! Cyd

setting up a new computer, trying to set up my gmail account on Thunderbird I get this message... Secure connection failed

I have 2 machines side by side, the old works just fine , its 12 yrs old, i want to use my new one... how do I fix this ?? And yes ive tried manual settings and all that.. its the certificate in Thunderbird thats expired it says

Win 10 user and very frustrated with Mozilla Tbird. Have tried many help screens to add a second email address to Mozilla Thunderbird but all are rejected. Used your tutorials, you-tube guidance, etc and nothing works. What do I need to do to register a second email for other personal business? Should I register with Google first?

On my new T-bird installation, I cannot find a way to add Send-Receive as a customization of the toolbar area, nor do I find so far any other way to send-receive, aside from interval-based automatic sending and receiving, and of course composing and sending a new email. Em-client has an easily accessed send-receive button, as does my long-time Outlook desktop client.

I recently installed Linux Mint on a separate SSD on my Win10 PC and have now a dual boot environment.

Linux can access (r/w) all windows drives.

It should be possible via TB profile manager to access the TB profile on the windows partition.

My question: Are there any known incompatibilities between TB on Linux and Windows ? I don't want to end up having problems with the Windows installation of TB when trying to set this up.
