I have a user at my job that installed the latest Firefox update (13324.11.21) through our MDM. After installing this update she cannot launch Firefox. When attempting to launch she receives a request for a username and password to install a Helper Tool. She is an admin on her machine and enters her credentials. The message closes and nothing happens. When attempting to launch again the same thing happens. This is not happening with our other 100 Macs who have the same Firefox version and others who have the same OS.

Is anyone able to tell me why this is happening or how to fix? Any assistance is very much appreciated.

The below troubleshooting steps have been done:

Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox

Updated the OS to 15.0.1

Disabled the Master Password on Firefox through a Mac Profile

Checked if there was a Firefox file under /Library/PrivlegedHelperTools

Granted Full Disk Access to Firefox under System Settings

A while back you had an update that it changed everything that I was seeing on the computer. Example: When I opened Firefox all I could see were "Firef" rather than Foxfire in HUGE letters. I had to change the Zoom to even try to figure out what was going on. You can understand why I have not done an update since then. My question is why should I trust Mozilla Firefox enough to ever upgrade again? What will this one do to change my laptop? BTW this is an HP from only 2022.

Hello Team, I am trying to install extensions to my Firefox on Macbook Pro M3.

Getting error in the subject

An unexpected error occurred during installation.

Extensions I have tried to install so far: AdBlock for Firefox by AdBlock uBlock Origin by Raymond Hill

Both are failing with the same error.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox, Private Window, nothing helped. It did work for me with Firefox on Macbook Intel

Firefox auto updated when I opened it today. Then when it opened, all that was on the screen was the menu (file edit view history bookmarks tools help), the "search or enter address" box, and in the upper right hand corner the words "private browsing" with the purple circle and eye eyeglasses icon. That's all. I have tried looking at my profile. It seems to still be there. This seems to be a problem with the Firefox software itself. I have re-downloaded the software three times, the last time I uninstalled Firefox from my laptop and totally reinstalled. Every time I get the same results. This almost blank screen. Let me be clear. There is no purple background, there is no Firefox icon, there are no tabs, there is no customized menu bar, there is no search box in the middle of the screen. I'm working on a Windows 10 laptop 64 bit. Please don't tell me to upgrade the Windows 11, the laptop won't take Windows 11. I get the same window whether I open the regular fire fox or the private browsing Firefox.

For the past month or two, at random times when I open Firefox, I see a message stating, "Looks like you reinstalled Firefox." To be clear I have not uninstalled Firefox in any instance where this message has been displayed.

When this happens, I’m unable to browse the web. To resolve the issue, I have to remove the uBlock Origin extension and reinstall it. Once I’ve done that, browsing returns to normal. However, I then need to reconfigure my filters and adjust settings within FireFox

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to see if that would prevent this issue, but it hasn’t worked.

This problem is specific to my PC—it has never occurred on my MacBook.

Any assistance in understanding why this happens and how to prevent it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
