We have configured Windows Single Sign On to Microsoft 365 in Firefox 102.6.0esr (64-Bit).

We have embedded a Video from the new Microsoft Stream on SharePoint Online into a SharePoint 2019 onpremise Site via the provided iFrame. Here every user gets an endless Login Loop (see Screenshot).

If you open the deeplink to the video, Single Sign On works perfectly.

And this also works in Microsoft Edge, why the Microsoft support is not willing to analyse this issue further.

Do you have any ideas how to narrow down the problem?

Hi,

i'm running Firefox on +70 Windows 10 PCs in three labs in a university. I've applied a computer configuration GPO with AppAutoUpdate enabled, BackgroundAppUpdate enabled and DisableAppUpdate disabled to my PCs, but it looks like i don't get automatic updates. In my labs i see some workstations have Firefox 108.0.1, but most workstations still have Firefox 107.0.1...

As my users can switch between workstations and labs, this leads to the annoying 'older version' message box when a user worked on a PC which already got the update and later uses another PC which didn't get the update. The users are also forced to create a 'new' profile then, which is quite problematic because of the size of the roaming profiles.

Any hints?

Im working on a deployment package for Mozilla Firefox 106.0.1 when launching Firefox on a brand new user it automatically creates a shortuct for private browsing. Im looking for a way to disable this as the package im creating is an appv package and this new shortcut installs in users profile, so it won't be uninstalled. I have searched google but cant find any hits.

We have the following for customization: Application directory\defaults\pref: localsettings.js with these settings: pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // only needed if you do not want to obscure the content with ROT-13 pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

Application directory\mozilla.cfg with these settings: // Don't show WhatsNew on first run after every update pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone","ignore");

Hello,

I am managing Firefox for a very large organization. We have several extension that we deploy using registry keys and we don't allow users to install additional addons. However, since version 102.3 I noticed some extensions that are present on the machine as .xpi files, but should not install unless a specific application is also present, are also being activated. They are enabled in the add-on manager, the information is present in the "extensions.json" and "extension-preferences.json" files. This should not happen. Is there any way to prevent the activation of these files?

Thank you!

Steps:

  • Open Linux server via VNC
  • Open Firefox
  • Search the term "test"

Issue:

  • The google result page doesn't fit into the window and has a horizontal scrollbar to see content on the right hand side

Note: I need my website to fit into browser properly at 100%(default) zoom itself for the purpose of automation because changing zoom level via selenium automation to press ctrl and minus 3 times causes unexpected behavior like even though value is filled in a textbox, it doesn't get sent in the API request payload. (Python 3.4.3, Selenium 3.12.0, GeckoDriver 0.31.0)

Versions:

  • Ubuntu 14.04.6
  • Firefox 91.13.0ESR
  • VNC: Tight VNC Viewer 2.8.63 OR Real VNC Viewer 6.22.515

Hello everyone.

We are using a software in my company that runs a local server with a self-signed certificate. In order to access the software right now we need to instruct the users to manually bypass the warning page for potencial security risks.

Is there a way to use an autoconfig or policy to automatically add the exception to that specific URL? I see that copying the cert_override.txt file in users profiles will add the exception, but I'd like to avoid that. I've also looked at a question with a similar problem here, but I couldn't get this specific solution to work on my end (Firefox ESR 91): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1287443

Moving user profile with GPO from local path onto folder redirected user document path

Hey all the experts

Backgroup: - I'm from a mid size corp environment with majority of users login on roaming profile (AD) - All the profile (browser saved passwords and bookmarks) are stored inside the local %APPDATA%, we want to remove the roaming profile from AD to free up resources and improve user login onto the PCs - User's Documents and Desktop folders are redirected onto the server

What I want to achieve: Setup GPO, to move existing Firefox profile (from %APPDATA%) onto the server storage, like each user's own Documents folder but hidden, so user won't accidentally delete it, then set Firefox to look at that new path permantly

Issues: - Once we removed the roaming profile on AD, when user logs in on another PC, all their bookmarks and saved passwords no longer sync across automatically - There are more than 1000 of PCs and users that we need this changed, which we can't manually copying and pasting the Firefox directory - We have multiple replicated VMs to store the user data i.e. Desktop and Documents

So, I have been looking on the net, but I have only found bits and pieces, like manually moving the Firefox profile from %APPDATA% to the new device's local path, GPO to adjust Firefox config but not copying the profile, no variable syntax I can find to point the new path onto the server directory like how Google Chrome can do it, i.e. ${documents}

Therefore, I would like to ask all your experts here if you can provide me with a step by step guide on how I could do it, as I'm quite new to GPO. As I have worked in an investment bank previously that they managed to get this setup on all browsers.

Hope to hear your good news, if this has been done, please give me a link to it, so I can look it up myself.

Really appreciated.

Good morning,

in our autoconfig.js we have set it to use the corresponding firefox.cfg. This also works so far.

Unfortunately we have problems with the import of the certificates (that used to work).

There is some problem with this code: var Cc = Components.classes; var Ci = Components.interfaces; var certdb = Cc["@mozilla.org/security/x509certdb;1"].getService(Ci.nsIX509CertDB); var certdb2 = certdb; try {

  certdb2 = Cc["@mozilla.org/security/x509certdb;1"].getService(Ci.nsIX509CertDB2);

} catch (e) {}

cert1 = "XYZ....." certdb.addCertFromBase64(cert1, "TCu,TCu,TCu", "");

We get the message 'Configuration file could not be read. Please contact your system administrator'

Hi All,

I need to customize FireFox for my org. Question...I set some preferences with a config files, and others with group policy, will both work assuming the preferences don't overlap/conflict? The reason is that I want to employ the DoD recommendations for securing FireFox, but only for their recommendations. For other settings, I would like to use Group Policy. Thanks
